It shouldn't be? But each 4 points of base level does give 1 extra status atk, that is then doubled in the damage calculation.

So, presumably, if you have the exact same STR/DEX/LUCK/bonuses at 99 as you do at 175, the 175 will do an extra 19x2x5 = 190 damage per BB hit.

Only 3rd class skills have base/job level in their damage formula. The only exception being Esma.

Thank you.

Reason I asked was I saw hotel post something about using Wind Cutter and Bowling Bash.  1 scales with base and the other doesn't.  Why anyone would take WC lvl 5 instead of Ignition break 5 beats me.

You don't take WC instead of IB, you take both (you need WC level 3 anyway, so it's just another 2 skill points if you want to max it out.)

I don't quite agree with using WC to supplement damage, as it's godawful and a waste of SP. The fear chance is low too, and you'd be better off using dragon howling instead.

If you just need that much of damage to finish enemies is kinda okay, the aoe of the skill is still reasonable, much better than BB.

We could use jRO sets for WC tho :v

If it was spammable, sure, but with a 2 second cooldown it kinda remains as a meh ability.

Level 3 does about 3k damage on my 118 rk, so I can't say it's totally useless, but at higher end leveling the sp cost may not be worth it. The one good thing is you don't have to worry about gutter lines.

edit: is it known what gear that jRO RK is using? Is it stuff we'll get later, or the ridiculous custom stuff jRO has?

Yeah you get both. Not like there's any other skills worth spending points on anyway.

And I don't find it useless for supplementing damage at all - with pretty meh gear on a 175 RK it still does a respectable 15-20k~ damage. Not much, but it's definitely something and I'll take what I can get :v

taken from video comments:

It's jRO's special accesory "ultimate mode changer", with peous set(RK artifact). Set effect is wind cutter chant time -100%, CT-70%, damage+450%.

Their Bio5 Headgear also affect Wind Cutter

Hahaha, jesus christ, they just went full out with the gear for it. Those are legit stats and would turn that mediocre skill into a legit build.

Wish we had something of that nature ;D

Considering you can max every skill other than the breath skills and still have spare points, yeah, you should totally ditch it.

You can max all of them in the same build. I actually really like HS tbh

It's a great skill to use if you lack Kiels/Tao on Single target neutral.  Other than that, its OK I guess.  Was hitting 70k Full ur's set + (+)11 Glorious spear @ geffen magic tourney, alternating with Sonic Wave 5 to maximize DPS.  However I recently failed @ the 10th level with Ju because I failed to realize it was ghost -_-.

Guess that's why I'm making a 2nd agi/ctrl click RK

I feel fear chances for wind cutter increased with my dragon howl skill lvl, and vis versa. A near 100% chance to fear with my dragon howl.

Hotel mind if you do some further testing?

You mean the skill level of one skill improves the fear chance for the other?

Can't really say I've noticed a difference. Haven't run any trials but I'm fairly certain the two skills are independent.
