game literally unplayable today

I am experiencing upwards of 30% packet loss when running a pingtest against playragnarok.com and in-game it constantly freezes then updates all at once and then freezes again.

playing other online games works perfectly fine so it's not my connection either. it's not like i'm located on the other side of the world, i'm on the east coast of the US; i shouldn't need to subscribe to a latency reduction program just to play this game, especially since it's not latency that's killing the game for me right now.

36% packet loss (for games that require constant online connection this makes the game unplayable)

I tried pinging from my pc and no lost packet. It seems to be the route your pc is taking to get to warp portal's host.

You can even see it in your tracert, some device in new york dropped your packets.

Try a service like wtfast/lowerping/etc to control your route. like use a lowerping server on the east so your ttaffic exits your isp onto the eastern seaboard onstead of west (where level 3's bad device is)

that's something level3 needs to fix. my ISP can't do anything about that, and have said as much when I followed up with them. fat chance Level3 ever addresses the problem though that jump has been broken for me since september. but the severe packet loss started today.

for the less technically inclined who may read the thread cause they have similar issues, I made an image that oversimplifes the problem a bit (and leaves off the majority of the hops for simplicity lol)

Its really easy to want to blame warp portal for all ping issues when it seems like warp portal is the only service you can't access, but its definitely not always the case.

I wish this is something kRO or Warpportal would look into or implement but at the way the game has been managed, I doubt it'd happen... This is something really brilliant I found somewhere.

This is an RO client in built 'lower ping', not sure why we can't have that on an Official International server.. WP would probably gain more players if they can also fix the latency issue with a lot of players around the globe. :u

Definitely ten thumbs up for this suggestion. Would love to see a non-lag/delay day
