This will be a brief post.

Proposal: Allow dealers to craft gunpowder from junk drops like coal, black powder and netil (??? use your imagination).

Reason: Dealers feel good when they can live off the land (cf. lvl 200 Mercenary armor). This ties in to a similar proposed crafting of food from monster kills. We don't want to be anti-social all the time by avoiding cities but this alternate path is viable for many. (Yes, I know it's an mmo social game.)

Proposal: Allow dealers to craft gunpowder packets from gunpowder.

Reason: Same as above. Also makes choosing Alchemy Craft earlygame a more enticing option. With more drops being useful this will force players into actively choosing their loot - indirectly cutting down on botting for the point-and-click fire-and-forget classes.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day.

BUT, aren't gunpowder packets sold by the NPCs? And.... What is the use of the gunpowder only?

Gunpowder Packet: Crafting materials commonly used in Ammunition Production via Alchemy Crafting & Advanced Alchemy Crafting

Gunpowder: Junk NPC drop, not aware of it being used for any crafting recipes.

I think it's the other way around- Gunpowder Packet is what's used to craft ammo

Hm, yup, that's right. I was typing that as I entered a qeue for a game I was playing, so I typed that rather hastily. Good catch.

I'm trying to figure out which part of my post was unclear but I can't figure it. Please tell me what you found confusing or unclear; I'll try to explain it.

oh no, I get it, you want to transmute junk mats into powder. It's plenty clear, what I was attempting to illustrate is that those junk mats sell for more than the NPC cost of simply buying the powder. Spending SP to transmute it AND lose money seems, unproductive. That's why that material is in the shops. The ones you find are junk, they sell for a 'refined' version, that still enables profit while crafting the ammo.

There's a class of dealer that avoids the cities. Those dealers don't deal in zulie, they deal in freedom and barter. Having the freedom to craft at any time from the materials at hand is extremely valuable. I (and others) would pay 1 SP for that freedom.

You also seem to be making the assumption that learning Alchemy early is a loss. I anticipate a time when Alchemy becomes extremely powerful earlygame, when basic smithy skills like repairs and refining could become accessible to Visitors. You're stuck in the current skilltree. Think outside the box a bit.

I'll edit this post after I get some sleep.
