I made a post a month or two ago that I was coming back to iRO after a long break (Pre-Renewal). I spent a long time in another heavily cash shop based MMO in my time off from iRO and learned that a big part of the game was learning to use the cash-shop wisely, and that certain cash-shop items were not worth what you paid for them. I wont go into details but I will say that I learned of its importance.

Currently, (as i dont yet have any third job characters (very close to my GX)) I have been spending my Kafra points buying HD Carnium and selling for Zeny to get better gear.

How do you use the cash shop? To the more veteran players with alot of characters, How do you find is the most efficient way to purchase from the Cash shop? What items do you favor?

I just hold off until the Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Christmas sale or Enriched Hammer/Shadow Gear upgrade events. Also I know of guys who just buy low/sell high the WPE and KP.

Well...just as  Seaechiowai stated, you could buy Cash Shop items related to events: Enriched Ores when we have Enriched Hammer, HD Ores when we have Shadow refine.

 

There's also regular cash shop items that are used constantly and with the KP to zeny convertion you at least have a floor price.  For example:

 

Silvervine 40 KP -> 4,000,000 z

 

Token of Siegried Box 100 KP -> 10,000,000 z

 

Groove Packs that come every other month are cheap (150 KP) they have a 100% guaranteed item too, but personally I think those are best for your own use.

For KP:
1) Lucky and Fire Sale boxes generally provide the best rate per KP.  At an average of 15-20m per 100KP from past previous boxes. Nevertheless, it is a gamble, and you could potentially make less than 10m/100KP if you luck is bad. 
2) Selling upgrading Ore during event could give you around 14m per 100 KP

3) Vending popular KP items like Silvervine could give you 13m per 100 KP
4) Selling KP directly would give you around 12m per 100 KP during non enrich event. This is for usually rush seller who doesn't want to vend and want fast cash. 10m/100KP is super rush rate and it will make a buyer super happy.


For WPE Trading, which I think should be made illegal. There are many players who sell WPE code via real money on Facebook and stuff. The rate I see is usually $3-6 per 1000 WPE code. With decent KP conversion rate, it is around 1 B per $40.

That's a terribly low estimation.  1k WPE costs $10.   Codes go for 160-175m zeny per 1k WPE.  

 

The best method without risky WPE trading is selling Enriched elunium boxes (50ct) during hammer events.

The top ROI is of course WPE trading but good luck finding a stranger willing to entirely trust you.  Most trades end up at a brick wall because neither party is willing to step into the hot water first.

Some people buy WPE code with zeny, then sell them for real cash at a huge discount on Facebook and etc. I have a suspicion that they probably are gold seller who botted those zeny. There are no way to detect whether WPE is a gift or a result of a RMT trading. Unlikes trading 500m with a level 1 novice would immediately raise a red flag.

Did you notify Warpportal through support about this?  This seems like an entirely different issue at hand.

Hmmm how would you notify Warpportal of a transaction that happens entirely outside of the game but between two anonymous two facebook users? I am just pointing it out of the loophole in the RMT policy, and making WPE trading illegal would solve a whole bunch of issue, including scamming.

What WP could do is ask friendface facebook to close the group.  Not sure how viable that is, however.

if someone is actually selling 1k wpe codes for 3-6 dollars they are not going to get far in life. or at least they should never go into real business.
