This guide is for New GXs that have zeny for good equips, or know they will get the equips needed. Looking at costs that are still under 1 billion though, and can get away with decent gear at 300-400m.
1. ALWAYS EDP - you can get research poison - each level brings up EDP time by 3 seconds, so at lvl 10 you can EDP for 1 1/2 minutes.
2. The Main builds
A. 120 str, 20-40 agi, 20-40 dex, 20-40 vit, 1-20 luk
you should have at least 20 base dex here, but your goal is 120 str to maximize damage. Gear adds a lot of hit rate.
Best Equips:
+9 Vanargand Helm [1](carat card or marduk card if you want)
Peerless mids
well chewed pencil = 5 hit
Wild beast claw with hunter fly and Inverse scale (FS enchants add hit rate) - change to thanatos katar at 120
Nab's cloth - lots of them, FS enchants add hit rate - Porcellio and bathory carded ones are important
+9 FAW FS enchants with wakwak card - massive attack and some hit rate
Temporal Str boots - FS7 or Aspd enchant (FS adds hit rate) Bears power/Lucky day/ or for cheap ones get runaway magic (magic won't go off unless you are using cd in mouth or magic stuff)
Rogues treasure - adds hit rate and flee with 90+ str (I would use these over bakos at 99, since they add hit and flee)
High upgrade malicious shadow set
B. lower budget build - 90 str, 90 agi, 40 dex, 30-40 vit, 10 luk (you should work on HBP quickly, at the very least)
Equips:
Rideword hat with marduk
well chewed pencil
wild beast claw still till 120
HBP - at +7 and +9 can add attack and atk speed with this build, but as a budget gx you want to be able to greed as well, so get a +4 at least, I would go either raydric or flamel on this.
If no nab's cloth whatever you can afford for plate
variant for shoes on this build
If you can't get rogue treasure, vesper cores the ones for attack or hit rate are good
+4 malicious shadow set - at least +10 total but its safe anyway so +12 total set - every 5 total upgrades = 1% more hp drain when it procures
For the 120 str build, work on agi,vit,dex,luk in that order (Luk adds hit rate + a bunch of other things) just be aware of how much you hit, vit to pot and prevent stun, agi to flee more and spin a bit faster
For the 90 str 90 agi build, focus on vit and dex, with some luk
For both these builds there is no reason to ever go past like 60 or 70 base dex at most, you can go lower even keep it at 40-50 base. Bring up Luk to 50+ for the final build since it adds so much like curse resist, hit rate, attack, flee, lucky dodge, crit.
I'll pretty this up eventually but these are some options for GX.
Equips:
Headgears
Both these top headgears are great for hp/sp leech, the rideword is better for HP and the Vanargand is better for SP.
Once you feel you don't need headgear to provide hp/sp, or you can switch headgears when needed, you may want to try out some other headgear options, for example:
White Drooping Eddga Hat - chance to procure and attack with procure goes up with each upgrade
or for defense
Palace Guard Cap [1] - provides neutral and ranged damage defense, and increases those %s after +6.
Mid headgear:
Dark Blinder - immunity to blind status
Blinker - immunity to blind status
Hexagon Spectacles [1] - reduces damage from insect by 5% (useful for scarabas/faceworm/other insect)
Black Devil's Mask [1] - all stats + 1
3D Glasses - 5% resistance from neutral element attacks
Low headgear:
- Blood Sucker - 3% chance to gain back 5% of the damage dealt as HP
- Well-Chewed Pencil - 2 dex, 3 hit
Headgear Cards:
- Marduk Card - immunity to silence status
- Carat Card - 2 int, 150 SP if headgear is +9 or higher
- Dark Pinguicula Card - 10 attack
- Deviruchi Card - immunity to blind status, str + 1
Body Armor:
- Nab's Cloth [1] - Enchantable with FS enchants, atk %, and str stat.This should be your main armor for leveling, get lots of them with different elements and porcellio.
- Aebecee's Raging Typhoon Armor [1] - Wind element, and you can put a marc card in it - useful for certain monsters and bio4
- Saphien's Armor of Ocean [1] - Water element, can put marc in this too - useful for killing certain monsters
- Hero Hidden Cloth [1] - You can use this after 160, I would stick to nab mosty but if you want to make a +9 of this or higher you should see the usefulness.
Weapons:
- Blood Tears [2] - 120 attack, enchantable, 2 slots
- Wild Beast Claw [1] - 160 attack, enchantable, 1 slot
- Drill Katar [1] - 110 attack, 30 hit, 1 slot, not enchantable but a good cheaper option, especially with that 30 hit
- Thanatos Katar [1] - VERY POWERFUL katar with hp/sp leech ability - if you don't get this after you hit 120 you haven't learned anything
- Inverse Scale - Holy property katar, a must have for gx as well as the thanatos katar.
Shoes:
- Shackles - good if you don't have 120 str, or want extra hp/sp, adds 50 attack when used with bloody shackled ball accesory.
- Fricco's Shoes - can make normal potions like yellow and white potions give 10% more recovery.
- Variant Shoes - Don't upgrade them, it gives 20% hp/sp for keeping it at +0.
- Temporal Str boots - You should get these when your str is 120 - it adds 60 attack, can add more with upgrades. Enchants you want are FS/AtkSpeedDelay, and in special enchant either Bears power or Lucky day.
