This information is also available in the wiki but since a lot of players either don’t know about the wiki or are confused on how to use it, I thought it might be a good idea to post something at the forum.

The Element System (which was added in the big update on June 21) has changed the role of elements in ROSE forever. This change affects everyone, whether you are currently leveling or are max level and enjoy playing the PvP games and doing dungeons. There are 8 elements: Fire. Water, Earth, Wind, Ghost, Poison, Sorcery, and Holy.

Some monsters now have an element classification.  You will see the element symbol on the right side of the monster’s name. In this example, the Moldie has the Earth element.

 Moldie_Earth.jpg

If there is no symbol next to the monster’s name, then it does not have an elemental classification.

Not only monsters were changed with this update; players now have the ability to add elements to their armor and weapons. Adding an element will not change any gems or substats you might already have.  Certain types of craftable ammo also have an element. Check the spoiler for a list of strengths and weakness

Spoiler

Note that if you have a skill that has an element, that will override any element that has been added to your weapon. In other words, if you add the fire element to your weapon then use a water skill, the attack will be a water attack. In the case of ammo, the ammo element (if there is one) will override the weapon’s element.

In PvP, the effect is similar to the effect in PvM. If your opponent has attacks with elements (mages are a good example of that) then you could be weaker to those attacks depending on which element (if any) you have on your armor. Of course, unlike with monsters, there will be nothing indicating that your opponent has any elements on their equipment.

To imbue armor or weapons with an element, you need an Elemental Scroll of the right type (armor or weapon). Scrolls with Fire, Water, Earth and Wind can be found in the Valor Shop. They cost 1,000 valor points each. Scrolls with Ghost, Poison, Sorcery and Holy are possible drops from bosses in the dungeons. Since all Elemental Scrolls are tradable, you might also find them in player’s shops.

Once you have the scroll you want, double click on it in your consumable tab then click on the item you want to imbue with the element.  When an item is imbued with an element, it will show next to the name. This Beretta has a Fire element on it.

Element_Equipped.jpg

If you want to change the element or remove it from gear, you will need a Nullified Scroll of the correct type. These can be found in the Valor Shop for 750 valor points. NOTE: When you remove the element it will be gone forever. Unlike substats, which can be removed from an item and are then on the enchantment scroll to be used again.  So be careful where you put them.

Here are what the element symbols look like:

Wonderful guide Honeybunz! This answered my questions! Would you be able to put the symbols for each element here somewhere so that we know what they look like?

Hi Pam and thanks! I was hoping people would click the wiki links and see the pretty tables with the various symbols but you're right, they should be on here too so I added them to the top post.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've missed you- glad to see you around again <3

Never apologize for asking questions- there have been a lot of major changes lately.

With Elemental Scrolls, you can only put them on the chest part of armor and on a weapon. Also be aware that you can remove a element that you added, but you can't reuse it (unlike the substats).

Feel free to poke me here or in-game if you have more questions :)

Thanks for the kind words. ^^

As I understand it, the Elemental Scrolls that drop in the dungeons go right into the person's inventory when the final boss is killed. I think it's random because one of my friends got one on his cleric and the cleric never attacked anything.  In any case, they definitely are not dropped on the ground like chemicals.

i did try to run the halls Hoo, and ulveric.

my chars got 2 poison scrolls

i got 2 of them armor each in exactly 23 runs but no scrolls on halls.

so i guess its around 5% or below that.

anyway the reply is very much appreciated.

now i am going nuts on getting all the scrolls :P

They don't have a tier classification.  I'll try to get clarification on whether or not any of the drop medals affect this but my guess is that they don't.

I'll update here when I get more information.

noob question.. of for example you hit the enemy with poison then hit it again with another element, say fire, would they stack their damages or the latter element would only be considered?

They both hit for the respective element. They are two different attacks.
