Hi,

[EDIT] Main goal is to shift the Gramps-centric zeroing of EXP away from other in-game maps where regular/new players do PvM or quests (Prontera fields, Pharos etc.). So other ideas are welcome such as this one for increasing guild tax to 100% base. [END EDIT]

I think it'd be good if there was a Grim Reaper NPC where you first spawn in Niflheim (town of the dead), which would insta-kill you and put your base EXP % to zero if you request it. You can get to Niflheim via an NPC in Eden's kitchen.

The reason is that a number of players try to stay within a certain level range for Gramps Turn Ins by repeatedly killing themselves in different ways, example (not me btw):

Though a few ways to do this that doesn't potentially create problems for other players have been discussed on the forums here, there are other ways utilized which can affect players doing quests on certain maps or new players, such as Dead Branching the West / East maps just outside Prontera:

Starting out at Izlude, I head towards Prontera fields 05 trying to level with hornets, instantly died with multiple Soldier Skeletons and Archer Skeletons near the Kafra.

I think that even though arbitrarily keeping a character within a certain level range might not be what staff intended when making Gramps Turn In, since it's something players will do anyway, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to make an attractive alternative method away from other in-game maps.

Thanks for the feedback.

Apparently it's Grim Reaper Yanku from the Bios Island instance.

Saving in Pharoah's light house solves this issue as it lets you die right  next to the kafra save point, and the map already has aggro enemies if you are too stingy to use amulets or dead branches. Even has an eden warper right there to then get out and go do whatever. You have to die 1-99 times as based on your xp/vip status, but such is life.

I do not think that a weird workaround that players invented to power/meta game the already broken system of TIs for EMBs to then turn into KVM badges should be accepted into the "official doctrine" of the game.

Pharos is one of the methods discussed on the forums and it's good that it's away from starter maps. Only drawback is the "affects players doing quests."

milkbbe

Pharos island map near where you go to change to rogue.193, 117. please kill the owl duke. :( i cant change classes because of him.

Pharos still affects a smaller amount of players though.

However I guess as it's not acknowledged in-game and a number of players don't visit the forums, there's still other methods being utilized which affect more people or new players e.g. East / West Prontera.

I agree that as it isn't an intended aspect of Gramps, officially acknowledging it seems counter-intuitive, but if a way isn't made to make the "meta game" impossible, perhaps an official method may reduce (though not eradicate) the impact of unofficial methods.

To be perfectly honest, the solution to me isn't to make a suicide NPC, but to increase the tax rate of guilds to be 99% or 100%. This would not only help to benefit guild leeching more, but effectively eradicate the need to do this and to not waste job xp when doing so as well.

That does sound like a better solution that would tie into the game better than a bandaid NPC! :no1:

That way people wanting to stay in TI literally can stay in TI and players doing regular PvM or questing on other maps aren't affected. :chomok03:

Main goal I had was to shift things away from other in-game maps so I'll add it to the first post, hope you don't mind. :handshake:

i support this feature. but they must pay zeny in term to perform the task.

1. Touch of death: 3% exp loss (1% if vip) - 100k zeny

2. Scythe of death: exp goes to 0% - 3m zeny

3. Breath of death: job exp hoes to 0% - 3m zeny

4. hell visit - base exp and job exp goes to 0% - 5m zeny

why there is zeny cost?

for zeny sink ofc

Should be a little higher, so it can tank EMB prices/value for sure. with 5m, a person can do 15 farming before reseting again, so eventually, EMB would be even lower than it is now =p
