So I kind of covered this in that one patch notes thread, but lets make a proper topic about it too shall we.

So purely cosmetic costumes are a nice part of events, especially if they look at all decent. The problem I think they have is that once you've gathered basically all of the ones available, anymore is more or less worthless for any purpose. So in other words, the costumes are a fun reward for the first few days, after which they get more frustrating than anything. Especially if you had to work for that worthless costume quite a lot, like in the watermelon event.

So I think bigger events that offer loads of costumes could have a mixboard type of thing for them, so sacrifice 5 costumes for 1 new reward. So instead of deleting the costumes or creating a bank char that'd hold them forever, you could turn them into generally useful stuff.

The rewards shouldn't be worth much, basically it could give around 20-50g per part, so on average 100-250g reward per spin. So gold, souls, powders, event insus and such would be on the list. Additionally there could be some rare cosmetic reward related to the event as a nice gimick, or something similar.

So this wouldn't be the main way or even a big part of what one got from the event, more just a feel-good system. Gambling's fun, throwing stuff out is not ;D Probably not easy to pull off by any means, but maybe something like this could some day be part of our events.

No. This is definitely no point of discussion. Sorry.

Every lottery has blanks. Opening a (gasha) box is like a lottery and the "blanks" are intended.

I mean it'd still be a blank, just not a completely useless one. It's like winning your money back in that lottery. And you could get a blank in this wheel, a reward worth little. All of these costumes already are basically blanks like that already, they can be sold for 20-50 gold each, in some cases more. The real blanks are when you don't get the costume box, or the misc you need for it. This would be a fun system to relief frustration, you could claim your 500 souls for those 5 costumes and be done with it.

There's a difference here to for example the dust one gets from the element dungeon, which is a complete blank. These items are technically worth a bit since they have a use and can be sold, everytime you throw one out you know that. And you get 50 of these items which in total are worth a nice amount, but storing them is such a pain. That causes frustration, getting some random stacking totally worthless thing causes less.

Blanks in RL stay blanks.

Just throw the stuff away you don't like/want.

Didn't quite get to finish yesterday, I'll continue a bit.

The lottery comparison really doesn't make much sense because you are comparing a real life function that has to make profit to a virtual slot machine that's just there to entertain. If it causes unwanted frustration (more than the usual rng :P) than it's a flawed system, that's when something's purely about entertainment. When your only real choice is to throw the item away, that's poor mmorpg design as far as I'm concerned. I can't remember any box in any other mmorpg I've played that would end up constantly giving essentially worthless items. I'd imagine that's because it makes the boxes less fun.

Only because you think stuff is worthless for YOU - which is a very subjective opinion - it mustn't be worthless for others. Only because you think it's only worthy if it has OP stats others might like things because of their look or because it's funny. If you think it's not worth to be farmed, skip the events.

Thank you for your suggestion, but this won't be implemented.

As I said, after a few days they are essentially useless. By that I mean a few days after playing the event. And that has nothing to do with stats or ME and YOU, it's just because you already have all these cosmetic items, and every copy after that goes to waste.
Whenever that's a possibility there's usually something that can be done with the extra copy. That could be selling them, but that's really out of question as a reasonable choice as I already explained. Sometimes you can use those extra copies to upgrade something, or sometimes to create some other item you need. This would be what this wheel would be for.

I think you guys should at least think about giving out so many costumes so easily. They are a major part of the rewards but end up being useless as I said. This is one of the things people have had issue with across events, basically the one thing. Not getting constant rewards because the constant rewards are costumes that aren't worth the trouble selling. If the costumes were say 200g each just for the cosmetic part (so no stats item 200g), people could easily get those if they wanted and those who didn't want the one they got could more reasonably sell it.

This will be my last answer on this topic. There is a reason that we have a lot of this type of stuff in the boxes which can be considered as "blanks". If we would give out such high amounts of the "cool" stuff, we would flood the open market and devaluate all the cool things.

Also at the end of the event you get reward boxes with souls and enchant dust. You can collect it and use it or sell it. An sometimes you rarely get better rewards.

This is how the events work in this grinding game. You get free stuff, you don't need any real cash, no one is forced to play these events for game progress. If you personally think it's a waste of time to play these events I respect your opinion on this but there are actually a lot of players enjoying this kind of events. Finally, please respect the decision from our end that your suggestion won't come into the game like we respect your opinion regarding the events. Thank you.

But you are flooding the market with these costumes, that's basically the issue here. It devalues the value of a cosmetic only costume. And since they are the constant event reward (souls and powders are nice but they are mere pittens, and the other stuff is usually rare as you said) that means that side of the rewards is lacking. What I meant in the last reply was that these "blank" costumes could be rarer, so the cosmetic side of them would have a higher value. Or start considering these costumes as proper blanks, which'd mean giving some other constant rewards, or more of them, unless you already do that.in which case I guess it is what it is.

Most of the events have been good in the constant rewards too, I'm not saying that it is a big thing.

Ofc people do the events, they are new content and have some new nice items! There's always room for improvement though :P I don't think think the notion of "Dont like it, dont do it" is good at all really by the way, since it can be used on anything, and as such means pretty much nothing.
