Hello everyone!

 

Not that all ever listen to good ideas or take the best ones in for ideas to have implemented in future skill updates; but  I was thinking.

Since the game has not been perfectly balanced because of having one class always being the dominant class like this time it's Mage due to an op absorb.

 

I was thinking since 2006 on wards: They have had different classes dominate every class since rose began for a certain time. 

 

'EG'  Battle Cleric reigned for quite a while. ( Those times were the best ofc ) Knight, Champion, Artisan, Bourgeois, Scout, Raider, and now Mage with Dual Raider following closely.

 

Why not continue on  that path with each class having a chance to be the strongest? As we will never have it balanced to perfection. 

This could change each  year. 'EG'

 

Next year could be Champion, year after that Battle Cleric etc. You catch my drift? Everyone has a chance of being the best class 

instead of wasting time making a char to be the best class. ( Most people just use whichever class is strongest as their main because

they're afraid of being weak. ) 

 

Some old school players have stuck with the same class throughout the ages. This will give those who don't the opportunity to re-use the class they once loved once more; when it's their turn to become strongest class. This will see everyone finish their char off for each job, and have the time to do so. Instead of having all those vends saying ' Quitting Class ' etc. There won't be any motive for it, and they'll keep everything ready for when its that classes turn once more.

 

One more thing:

 

I am sure this has been spoken about but the AOE's need to be nerfed. AA was way more fun last skill update before the AOE's became so good. 

 

Also I have a feeling that Katar Raiders have been improving every update since the skill update. So anyone Katars out there? 

No need to quit and go Dual Raider. Katar are just as fun and good as they always have been! ( They could use a nerfing though :P )

 

I barely ever type anything in forum.

Personaly I think this is a bad Idea, you should be able to balance the classes to a certain point where everyone feels its balanced.

 

One of my major conserns at the moment is like you mentioned to power of AOE, spear champs have a HUGE advantage in PvP due to fact they can basicly spam aoe all day long, a simple fix for this would be to reduce the AOE's for PVP by a set amount of % (Lets say 20-30% for arguments sake) or increase the cooldown by a couple of seconds.

 

Another problem most people have noticed is the power bourg have when aoeing, much like the champ. 

However I feel that the bourg AOE is MUCH MUCH stronger then any other class at the moment Im not sure what the reason is they are doing so much damage atm, I presume it has something to do with critical defence, but increasing the critical defence for all classes seems like a bad solution to me.

 

They should just lower all the AOE power for all classes, It is extrem hard to heal as a cleric when facing multiple bourgs/champs/mages for that matter.

If u do not deal with it propperly you(and your entire team) could be wiped in a matter for "ONE" seconds to be precise :)

 

 

Im also realy, realy I mean realy, upset that the cleric's heal is mostly based on these stupid Flames where you are basicly are forced to place ATLEAST 2 flames!

It has already gone to the point where clerics have only summon guage gems instead of Defence gems or other good stats just to be able to put more flames down :(

 

This is just my personal opinion...

 

 

 

Besides, most players in rose online are veterans and basicly own every class there is to play.

Making a cicle for each class to be more powerfull then others is only going to make things worse, I don't know if you have noticed but I have seen a huge increase in bourg activity in the PVP aspect due to the new changes.

The game would be immediately 2x better if Mage's Barrier had a 6-8 second cooldown, if they'd fix Critical Defense, and they'd give CON some status resistance rating. I could spew this all day every day but no one is listening.

Making one class overpowered or stronger in this sense is not intended with any balancing or skill update. Genesis is working on putting together class balances to be tested on Pegasus, using the feedback gathered from players since the Paradigm Shift update went live, to help resolve these issues (including concerns with AOE skills, the mage class, and the mana shield in particular). We are gathering all of your feedback, and the ROSE Team is working to get those changes ready as soon as possible.

Call it what you will, but this is just me speculating a hypotheses, and I'm not making any claims. But isn't it weird, how Leonis played Raiders mostly, and they were OP for years and years. Then suddenly when Leonis is gone, Mages are OP and Genesis plays a Mage? 

 

Like I said it's just speculation. But if I see flat out refusals, denial or gas lighting when it comes to Mages being balanced, it won't be a good sign to the community that the DEV's are impartial.

I consider myself as a decent spear champ, and my AOE's can hurt in AA. However, these are the only skills I basically have. I Can only AOE till I die, because of champions are lacking survival abilities. Mages are crying about their absorb possibly getting longer cooldown. My Berserk takes a minute to cooldown. Besides AOE's , spears have a really bad single target skills, which has less skill power than any other classes. Sword and Axe champs are even more dull. Kinda like run to fight and die thing.

Champions are dead in group PvP content. Considering both Mage and Bourge do better AoE, and can do it from a distance, ultimately requiring less Cleric Support. Champions can deal damage, but over-all defensively and range advantage aspects make them completely inviable.

really, i have never quite understood AOE damage in this game as many of the AOE skills have the same if not more damage output than single target skills, just doesnt make sense.

 

Surely a skill which affects a range of people should do less damage than a skill than singularly targets one player?

 

To be honest, due to the huge damage output from bourg / mage / spear champ of boring spam AOE, why not make all AOE's perhaps half the damage of a single skill, or even 75%, this would help alot with the streamline of PVP,

 

half the amount and there wont be a spam and die situation, especially with bourgs - they can wipe out a whole team grouped together in a few AOE skills!

Personally, I agree that AoE's need work. 

 

Preferably, the Damage would be divided evenly among all the targets hit. Meaning, the more targets hit, the less damage % of the total each individual takes. This as far as I know isn't possible with our engine at all, not even with coding. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt this would be possible.

 

Probable Fix: Divide all AoE skill Powers by 4. This means unless theres a minimum of 4 or more targets, AoE's would be losing DPS over single target skills.

 

[Obviously this would affect classes like say Spears who have so little single target skill potential, but let's be honest; those details don't need to be discussed because these changes will never make it into the game]

just a tip for the gm if your gonna read this. sometimes class balancing isn't only about changing the skills, it can be by changing the stats of gears that the particular class uses. and if something is a tad strong just invent some new gears that give the underdog a chance to have an equal footing. nerfs here, buffs there is the direct form of balancing a class. but theres an indirect way by changing the gear status the particular class uses.

 

so mages spamming absorb, - direct form of treating this problem is changing the cooldown timer on mage. indirect form could be lowering the defense of their armour so they take more damage.

 

this game has a vast amount of gears that change the pvp dynamic. certain gear help with certain classes more so than other gears. so sometimes when a class seems overpowered, it may be because there are no items in the game that counteracts the class.
