We've had a bunch of talk about crimson weapons in the thief section today XD I saw that Crimson Bow will be usable by Shadow Chasers. I'm wondering if the two slots and upgrade effect will be able to surpass an OAB or if we're still -_- out of luck for a better bow for chasers?

I'm not sure but it looks promising. I'm not good at item/damage calculation but if what I saw on a certain website is correct it will increase attack by 5 every 10 levels past level 70. Not to mention you'll also be getting additional attack every upgrade + it has 2 slots.

I'm also looking forward to this bow but right now I'm happy with my Catapult.

So when it comes to IB+BB Bow chasers it'll be better.

Well if you're talking about IB/BB chasers for leveling, I believe Red TENS is still better since you can equip a shield. Looking at the description of this bow, it might be better than OAB since you can put 2 archer skel cards in it to increase SR/AS damage.

What are you trying to say? You know a SC already using this bow for IB/BB?

So they're in Sakray now and I checked the following:

 

+14 2xAS Crimson Bow versus +14 2xAS Catapult versus +14 OAB.

 

And.... Crimson bow is bestest. It matched catapult on triangle shot damage, but beat it on double-strafe. It beat OAB (with steel arrows) on double strafe and triangle shot. 

 

Was using Evil Marching hat + Temp Dex + EA FAW with Menblatt so there was some ranged damage mods around. 

 

I was doing about 18-20k per triangle shot and about 5-6k per double strafe on the Crimson Bow btw. 

 

I'm not sure at what point exactly it surpasses the OAB/Catapult, but my guess is you'll need it above +10.

Brief followup with Ranger wearing generic white wing set with no enchants/upgrades, and nothing else. Using Arrow Storm at base level 100 with 100 dex and 40 luk. 

 

+7 1xAS Elven Bow + arrows beats +7 2xAS Crimson Bow by a few thousand in damage (mid 22-26k). 

 

At +11, the Elven Bow won by like 2-3k damage, both did high 35-39k damage. 

 

My guess is you'll want +12 or higher for the Crimson Bow to be the best option, and that at low refines OAB is the way to go.

there is never a good card for everything :v. make severals for each race/boss for max dmg

When the white knight card hits, that will be better IMO. 20% on medium and large (which is most enemies/bosses) and some extra atk to boot. And its size, so it will multiply with the general atk % mods too.
