What are the things that affects critical damage aside from STR?

I'm trying to build a Hybrid Skill type and Crit type GX so I have a 90+ str and low luk. Does Luk affects critical damage?

My damage so far with a crit damage is 4k with EDP on an MVP using liberation thanatos katar.

I saw someone doing 12k damage using crit katar GX without using dark claw. Can someone enlighten me about this type of our class?

Luk basically increases your sATK and Crit rate but not Critical damage. But Check Temporal Luk boots and Petal Card - these things will increase your Crit Damage base on your Luk stat.

I'm not trying to have 120 luk so the boots won't do. Is it the only thing that can make your critical damage go boom? planning to get on 90 luk to get HBP's bonus critical damage.

i-b. General Damage Formula
If doing a normal physical attack, a general overview of the damage formula would be:

Final Damage = floor[((Total ATK x Ranged % Bonus x Ranged % Reduction) x Hard DEF Multiplier - Soft DEF) x 1.4 x Crit % Bonus]

- The last two variables in the formula only gets applied if the resulting attack was a critical hit. The damage gets increased by 40% (1.4) and is then affected by Crit % Bonus, which is the total amount of critical damage modifiers gained from equipment (ex. Fatal enchants).

- You might've noticed that we haven't taken out these two critical damage modifiers in the formula for skill-based physical attacks. This is because some skills are still capable of unleashing critical attacks (ex. Focused Arrow Strike).

CRIT
Critical Hit Rate: The Critical Hit rating, which increases damage by 40%. Offensive skills do not take CRIT into account except for a few exceptions like Focused Arrow Strike. Critical Hit also ignores Flee rate but not Perfect Dodge nor DEF. Critical Hit Rate is doubled when wielding a Katar type weapon.
Note: The Crit rate being displayed in the Status Window isn't the true value which is applied against monsters. The "status crit" is calculated by dividing current LUK by 3 and adding the Crit rate bonuses from equips/cards. The real Crit rate is a little different, as LUK × 0.3 + Bonus.
Critical hit can proc physical autocasts (such as CD in Mouth), so 100+ crit for autocast builds like SC/Sorc is a viable way to make up for a low DEX build.
Critical damage always goes with the highest weapon level variance. Weapons under the safe refine level will always have the same exact damage. Refinement bonus variance, on the other hand, will vary.
Critical damage modifiers like Aunoe card/Temporal LUK Boots goes right after the original crit damage, it goes like Final Critical Damage = Highest Weapon Level Variance Damage × 1.4 × Critical Damage Modifier % Ex: your crit damage goes for 500 with a clean Faceworm Queen Leg [2], if you put 2 Aunoe Cards inside it, your crit damage will be 700.

If you don't want to go 120 luk, then I'd suggest looking into a chakram + sincuffs combo to compensate for the lack of the crit mod you'd be missing from luk boots.

With that and fatal enchanted faw, you can still get 66% crit damage + whatever bonus from your luk. If you plan to keep it low, you won't benefit much from a petal card, so you could opt for cenere or wakwak or DR instead.

Previously you asked "what is a crit mod and what is a crit bonus" -- the crit bonus is always 1.4 (crits do 40% more damage), the crit mod is the total sum of % damage boosts from all critical damage boosting gear such as aunoe card, paper card, petal card, fatal enchants, FAW luk bonus, temporal luk boots, etc.

Do not mistake critical attack rate for critical damage, however.

thanks for this.

Im a bit stupid about how card modifiers works and i dont understand the formulas posted above. what's the best card for a critical damage on mvps? aunoe or AK? both gives 20% more damage in their description and i dont know if they have a different add ups on the damage

if fuyikun kun wants to troll you, you will not escape =P

at end of day, if you wanna mvp with higher damage, its AK card

but since its useless for normal monsters, you gonna need a set each

what would be advisable for a katar crit with AK? (Thanatos katar+1bako) or (Chakram aspd 2 + assassin gloves)? also, does 2 sin gloves stacks?  is this item already available?
