My wiki and search fu skills might be weak, but is Reproduce essentially permament when a skill is gained? Or does one have to continue to spam Preserve to hope that their skill doesn't get erased by other copyable skills? If the latter, how often does a person have to pick up their skill again? I'd like to eventually pick up Severe Rainstorm, but it would be a pain if I had to Reproduce it on a regular basis. Do people generally have to re-snag the skills they use for Shadow Spell very often as well?

as long as you don't activate reproduce again after the skill is learned, yes you keep it forever

Unless there's some kinda server restart (a merge for example) or you reser your skills it will stay
