Hi guys,
I've been playing for a while, but a streak of bad luck has me wondering. This question pertains specifically to Classic, by the way.
Reading the wiki, the drop system states that there "Each monster has a maximum of 8 items in their "Drop Table" which they can drop. Each item has separate rate at which it is dropped."
So if a monster has 8 slots to drop something, and you're using a loot table manipulation item, such as Fish in Mouth, which adds a small chance to drop Fresh Fish from monster kills, and you're fighting a monster that already has 8 items on its drop table (for example, Nightmare Terror), what happens?
Does one item on the loot table get overwritten? Does the loot table expand to 9 items? By using loot table manipulation items, am I reducing my chances of getting other items on the loot table?
Now, I'm pretty sure it's just bad luck, but I bought a Fish in Mouth at level 60 on my hunter, and I'm now level 92, having levelled solo the entire way, and I haven't seen a single card since I bought it. The drop rate on Fresh Fish from this thing is super low anyway, so I'm wondering if I'm sabotaging my chances of getting cards.
Anyone have any insight they could offer?
