Since many Years Drop/Lant and special Drops like "Battlefield Coupons" are always bound to Blacksmith Forge Rate / Days.
Low Drop Rates aka "normal Drop Rate" exists, to give Players a feeling of Joy and something Special, when the High Drop rates finally gets on.
(and it`s the signal to spent some cash)
Both Mechanics are bound to each other, the low and the high Drop Rates.
If we would have a constant Bonus/Event Rate, lets say: +200 % Bonus on Drop + Lant on every Day combined with a Bonus of +50 % Success on Reinforce/Enchant and Compound Success....

Nobody would feel the need to load Points to a special Day, lets say First of the Month. (salarying)
And then the Company would have a much lesser constant Cash Flow.
But most important, the Inflation of Lant and every Item in Game would go even more crazy until the Motivation to go hunt em would stagnate and flatten.
This Circle of "Sugar bread and whip" is actually most Reason to play and not play the Game.
Not play like you said, its not worth the Time without.
And to play when its "spending/Forge Time".
This "Mechanic" could only be replaced if the Company would have additional forms of Income.
The Premium Service can`t fully replace it. Since it only provides related Bonus like more Lant and Drop , something thats already available during Events.
Conclusion:
We would need a different in game currency independent from the Blacksmiths.
In the old Days this was the Experience System. Today Experience only matter for the most in form of the Honor System.
Sadly it`s bound to the Bonus rates as well. So we don`t have anything motivational to go on besides Events.
It´s not intended anyways, your supposed to go on when Forge calls.
I wish we had at least one Blacksmith like the Compound Blacksmith who don`t works with Success rates.
It could generate Motivation to log in besides Events.
