Hello!

I want to report that the fusion process is a little "weird" or it's just a malfunction.

Well, following an official guide which can be found in here:

It explains you how to fuse and how to use slates and in the example showed, it explains that you can fuse any costume or accessory and maintain the costume or accessory slots and runes(if your costume or accessory has slots and runes in it) with the Rune Maintain Slate and even maintain the appearance of a desired costume or accessory that you like.

As you can see in this image taken from the guide, it has both slates and the desired appearance chosen was the Gothic Loli one(that's why it's marked in "lime green")

Spoiler image

I've followed the guide, used an cape 2slots and fused to another cape that i wanted the appearance, so as the following guide, i've used appearance maintain slate and rune maintain slate to fuse both capes, selected the cape as the image above shows and guess what?

Got just the cape that i wanted the appearance with default color(ok it i could solve with some dye), without slots and of course no runes.

Plot twist: The guide explains you how to fail and lose your items that you bought from kafra shop.

Sent a ticket to support and the dev team told that both slates doesn't work together and that's all.

What's the point of both slates if you can't use them together and more what's the point of these three additional items showed here?

Spoiler Additional Items

Ok, if you got the item that you like the appearance and 1 or 2 slots in it you should choose between the slots using rune maintain slate or the appearance using appearance maintain slate? It is so unfair and as almost everything in the game should work as and RNG thing?

Just take a close look in the description of the both slates:

Spoiler Rune Maintain Description

Spoiler Appearance Maintain Description

in my experience, these descriptions doesn't match with the item function.

Well, sorry for taking your time with this lot of text but i really needed to report this(again and publicly) for them to know it and fix it because it's almost like a "throwing money away thing" if it depends on RNG.

Thanks in advance. See ya!

~ Hoping to see this fixed soon ~

Umm, Rune Maintain Slate only works if the slots already punched with Super Puncher and injected with runes.

Rune Maintain Slate :
Only use this if you don't like the appearance of certain costume, and you want to try randomly change the appearance while still keeping the slots.
Example :
(You have 3 slotted American Football costume, already with 3x +50 INT bind runes, but you don't like the appearance.
You can try to fuse with Rune Maintain Slate, hoping to get 3 slotted rare costume)

Appearance Maintain Slate :
Only use this if you like the appearance of your costume, but want to try to get more slots.
Example :
(You have non slotted Ninja costume, and you like the appearance.
You can try to fuse with Appearance Maintain Slate, hoping to get 1/2/3 slotted Ninja costume)

Soo, if previously you want to fuse 2 slotted Hero Cape with non slotted Korean Flag Cape
Because you want to keep the appearance of Korean Flag Cape but with the 2 slots from Hero cape.
Then it's not going to work

Just take a close look in the description of the both slates:

in my experience, these descriptions doesn't match with the item function.

It's true that the descriptions could get clearer because of the broken english, so we'll report those for now for minor changes.

However, we'll have to test the interaction between slates before reporting this as a bug. Should we assume that your costume had runes slotted on all runeslots when you used it? Since the Rune slate will only protect existing runes.

what about 3s costume + Rune Maintain Slate + Magic Chance Slate?

I'd normally assume it will result in a 3s version as long as you use a 3s costume with runes slotted in, but since there could be a bug in the fusion system. I'd suggest to not even try it until it's confirmed as working.

We'll keep that in mind when running tests on ITS.

Yes, i know that must be with runes in it. Thanks for your explanation but the question is: Why the last process you explained is not going to work?

The descriptions could get clearer because of the broken english, but it does explain that the Rune Mantain Slate "will protect slotted in runes", not the runeslots. So if you're aiming to get the same costume but want more runeslots, you do have to use both slates together on the same item, but the costume must have runes first.

Now, if you actually had runes in the costume and it still didn't work; then I'd consider that an unintended bug. We'll try to check that soon and report it if needed, and description fixes as well.

Magic Chance Slate results in a piece of a 5-piece set, right? I'd assume it will result in a 3s version as long as you use a 3s costume with runes slotted in.

That said, until we know if there's a bug with the fusion system, I strongly suggest to not attempt to do it. We'll test it asap to prevent future inconveniences to players

Yes i know that the costume or accessory must be slotted and with runes in, mine was with +50 str runes in it. So "will protect slotted in runes, not the runeslots" what? so if i lose the slots the process will give me runes because they were protected? lol. Aren't obvious that if you maintain the rune you will maintain the slot? or the rune will just pop out of the costume and get to nowhere?

Yes, i had runes in it but the bug is: when you use the rune slate to maintain the runes of your slotted and with runes in costume, and use the appearance slate to maintain the appearance of the other costume/accessory the system recognizes just the appearance slate and the fusion result is: you get the costume/accessory that you chosen the appearance with no slots and no runes.

This seems incorrect because you are using the rune maintain slate to maintain the runes(as you said it doesn't maintain slots XD) and fusing to other costume/accessory and choosing to maintain the appearance of the other costume/accessory so in this process the result should be the appearance costume that you chosen with the runes and obviously the slots that the runes are slotted in.

Hey,

Can you PM me the ticket number you had when contacting support?

We're also looking at updating this guide, since it doesn't seem to have been touched since June 2013.

Thanks!

No, it won't give you the runes back to your bag. I meant that it won't protect the "empty runeslots" on the costume, but rather it will give you the costume back with the runes it had.

And wait, you just explained exactly what your issue is... You tried to keep the runes from one costume, and the appeareance of the other.

That won't work.
All slates can only be applied on a single costume. That's why freakygin explained that you can't use them to "transfer" the runes to a new costume unless it's a random one.

Rai beat me to it. The reason why "Why the last process you explained is not going to work?" is because the UI only allows you to select a single costume, so the slates can only apply to that one costume.

v6TLMvV.png

I would simply suggest changing it to "It will protect the runes slotted into the selected costume from being lost".

what about 3s costume + Rune Maintain Slate + Magic Chance Slate?

These two items can't be used together.
