Firstly, Mechanics suck at refining because limit is job level 60 instead of 70
Secondly according to the revealed chances Enriched ores always have a higher chance than level 70 Mastersmiths so

wasn't it something like it keeps the success rate of the job level you change to mech as (which would be 70 in most cases)? i don't remember

says, my MS was level 68 when i changed to mech. my mech was job 1 at that time, but the game will use job 68 when performing upgrade weapon, even when your mechanic job is still 1.
i've been using my mech to refine since he was job 1, 30, and now 54. and the result is always consistent to job 68 mastersmith (about 11-13% of all level 3 weapons reach +8 from +0).

the game remembers your job level of when you were mastersmith, and uses that job level in the formula.
