Just a quick overview on some fun facts about bows that are generally used.

 

They all use the following calculated variables for the figures posted: LINK~

 

To sum it up, this is my base gears with different applicable weapons when versing Amdarais.

 

I use Takoyaki, LUK Food (+20), Falcon Eyes, No Limits and Mild Wind (Fire) and a Hawkeye Proc.

For the next section I use the same, however I use Fire converter as opposed to Mild Wind, and have been camouflaged for at least one second and Hawkeye is NOT active.

It may seem like a bit of an odd post, but I wanted to highlight quite a few things here and used Amdarais as a target because he has low defense (so can show off a good level of DPS here).

 

I wanted people to note the minimal differences with auto attacks versus the various bows that are used as such. Yes the gigantic bow does more overall, but remember it does have drawbacks and the damage is pretty small by comparison so don't think that it is that important to change up an existing setup unless you really want to.

 

I also wanted to point out not only the sheer difference between an Elven Bow and a Big Cross bow, and the minor difference between +13 and +14 Big Crossbow (the +20 is just for show).

 

The point of all of this was to highlight some of the overrated complications of each of these items that seem to be floating around in some of the posts found in the archers sub forum.

The one reason to get a bxb for mvping(with non AS build)is if you want to use some SA between autos, or between Aimbolt spam :v

Yeah, I think +13 for level 4 weapons is more than enough for what the game offers.

i don't play my ranger much (and even more rarely for MVPing) so i haven't exactly invested in crit much. the only thing is my sharp 1/2 BXB that i got lucky on one time

It's a 7.6% overall damage increase, so it still isn't major; remember, Glorious Hunter Bow only uses Slaughter Level 1.

Only 2h axe and claymore uses lv2 iirc.

Almost 8% increase its still quite significant tho

It's 8% more pretty much, but not much to cry about if you use a +13, ultimately you are getting a good enough boost with that.

Elven Bow. Even with a +12 2xAK BXB, +12 AS elven still wins.

Most don't use fear breeze as it breaks hitlock

It also depends on how you focus your build.

 

If you run CRIT, then obviously you will miss out on DPS; but can be fine if you run RANGED. But yeah, it does break hitlock (though what doesn't these days :Y).

I'm surprised that elven is so close to BXB--does the extra slot and weapons atk make up the 50% bonus loss with elven?

I'm not. i always got around the same dmg auto-atk wise using +14 BM elven vs +12 2xAK BXB, so i use either depending on whether i need more crit or not

Don't use Fear Breeze though, it is pretty useless.

It's useless for hitlock.

 

It slightly alters your overall aspd (because the animation delay you lose approx 1 hit within a second period).

 

It also is flat damage, so you miss both any crit bonus or crit multipliers.

 

So a few reasons as to why this skill is terrible.

Apparently kRO just changed again to make Crits take priority over everything(double attack, fear breeze, chain action, etc), will be years to get it here tho :v
