Trade chat is for Buying/Selling items, looking for parties, overall asking for information, guild recruitment, etc.

It is not for Flooding with half a guild's worth of people's smack-talk following some BattleSquare because the people you went against ruffled your jimmies apparently.

It is not for complaining about said people breaking rules. That's what Support is for online.

It is definitely not for bringing up the long-dead complaints about things ALREADY PATCHED OR RESOLVED in a PvP mode.

So kindly stop doing those things because it's frankly getting old at this point. I don't care that sally-what'sherface did that in BattleSquare or that Guild #225 rules or that you need to sing the "Rage against the ET" song. Just because a trade chat can only be moderated when a GM is able to come on does not mean you're free to write that nonsense. It's like they can't follow a simple set of procedures.

Frankly, it's making you look worse than whatever they had apparently done.

Thank you,

A spectator.

Apparently it seems that way, but he has a point which happens to be true, the trade chat is been used for everything there is to it. I have no problem with it, just block trade chat. My main problem is the continues spam of megaphones done by dupers selling gold on different websites. Does not matter who you block a new character will come selling gold to the community.

What can I say, invest on a good hack shield, if no management is able to routinely be there due to too much work and not enough time to police up the community.

I don't think that has anything to do with hacks to prevent something said in trade chat, It's seen in literally every mmo games with a feature of global chat system. Although those types of game have a gm or gs or just a volunteer helping out in game to restrict chat and deal with problems. Dragon saga has a very small team so it currently isn't possible. So only thing that we can do about this topic is alternative ways to deal with the issue or just ignore it and let it be.

I do agree with you, Coolsam. I was thinking when writing my post on the recent EW rules guidelines topic that some in-game presence from the Staff would be something great. But as Agitodesu said : Dragon Saga has a very small team. I'm pretty sure there are some volunteers in the community that would agree to regulate the chat. But finding someone that the Staff can trust, who is active and has a great behaviour is not that easy.

Of course this is not only the lack of members in the Dragon Saga team, but also the community. I'm not using the trade chat as much as I used to because now this is flooded by always the same messages. Seriously, when I open the trade chat I always see like 5 times the same message from the same player. I think only one message at a time in the trade chat's window is enough visibility.

My main problem is the continues spam of megaphones done by dupers selling gold on different websites.

Duplication has been patched a while ago. And these golds selling websites are not owned by dupers, only by scammers. I think Popcorn already said it enough in game, but buying golds from these websites is forbidden and not recommanded at all since they just are scams.

Dragon Saga trusts players on forums for VM's. A VM even became one of our developers which is a big thing.

VM's in the past have tried doing mini-moderating in game before but aside from directly sending reports to GM's via pms or some messaging system they can't do much.

This topic is really just to remind the people of these particular guilds that what they're doing makes them look worse than whatever they seem to have beef with. I know some people could care less about what playerbase thinks but would you rather be the better man, stay silent and report them or be like these spam megas and trade chat with pointless trash talk and even stoop to the accused levels they do that they can report you for?

I've seen and been part of countless guild-vs-guild drama; But I'm kinda done looking at it or being a part of it.

Maybe it's time to find a new VM who is active in game ? And with some power to be respected by players, like the 'Staff' thing on GMs ? This is just a suggestion, I do understand that it may not be possible of course.

As a guild leader I do agree that there are some guild-vs-guild drama. I personally have some problems with some kind of rule breaker guilds but apart this kind of guilds there aren't really drama, at least not in my circle of contacts (which also contain some (big) guild leaders). Before posting my suggestion on the missions in EW I gathered the opinions of many guild leaders that are applying for EW regularly and they all were very friendly even if my approach was direct.

I don't mind the banter and drama at all to be honest, and it's not like its filled with that all the time. When I've played other games with such chats there's always been a good portion of this stuff. Change the chat name to global, problem solved!

I always said we need another chat slot. Trade chat for shop stuff and World chat for global flame hate speeches, whining, salt, toxic behavior, troll tries and stuff like that.

They would like to change the chat system if they can . but it seems there are more important things or server issue that will make things worst.

 please lock this post  :chomok03:

Hey guys! If you see someone breaking the terms of use in game or chat, please send a ticket to the support team. If you wish to make a suggestions regarding updates to the game or chat system, please send us your ideas in the proposals and suggestions portion of the Dragon Saga forums! While I understand being frustrated about other players behavior in game, please do not create threads to call out a specific group or type of player in this way.
