Classic WoE 2 currently happens on sunday at noon PST.

this translates to the following timezones as:

GMT: 8pm (sunday)

CET: 9pm (sunday)

KST: 4am (monday)

PHT: 3am (monday)

Australia: is between 3am~5am depending on location.

Something people don't seem to think of very often, is a huge portion (the majority) of the Classic playerbase are located outside of the USA in places that do not observe Daylight Savings time. This means that WoE will shift forward by one hour for locations outside of europe and the US. (South America it will shift forward by two hours)

People generally work on mondays. Those that I know of who play from aus/asia at the moment and WoE usually have to go to work straight after or get ready... an extra hour will mean they can't do that anymore.

When it comes to WoE times, I always feel like moving them is a potential to lose more players than gain. in this case though, Classic's playerbase is so stretched, I think it would be a reasonable idea to shift WoE 2 (and only WoE 2) one hour earlier to maintain status quo for our Asian friends.

For the US this means 11am through 2pm on a sunday, that shouldn't be too huge of a change, likewise in Europe, it would be 7/8pm instead of 8/9pm.

As a guildleader I'm worried greatly about the impact DST ending will having on Classic, so that's my proposal.

On a side note: Europe Daylight savings ends next week for those affected.

Some members of my guild already informed they won't be able to WoE 2 after the DST update due to being too tight on time.

This happens to us all and even me being from Aus but I believe the moment we picked up this game we were ready to expect many things are not possible. There are sure to be times that may benefit us all but then it can also cause an impending to other players. We now live in a 24 hour society, meaning 3 loadings of shifts, who is to say just because some aussie iRO players working from 9 am to 5 pm cannot be on means night shift workers such as me working 8 pm to 4 am are completely in the same bind to them?
I dont disagree with you though Xellie my love, but as much as there are a variety of people on this earth and a variety of timezones, there are also a variety or work times and work schedules and work requirements.

I agree with you marty, but classic is ... well... critical.

DST change could destroy half the active guilds. (hint we only have like... 5)

That is a doozee indeed Xellie my dear.

But DST is an inevitable thing that exists regardless.

Considerin you brought up the subject to begin with i can assume you have already got some proposals in mind to help this situation without influencing the implementations of DST, why not voice out in the topic and let us discuss it first, surely we can work to a compromise that can benefit us all mutually.

Not like I have an illicit relationship with Cinnamod or Campitor (oh if only *thinks erotic thoughts) but maybe i can also help you with voicing to them your opinions on the matter if you think they are no longer listening to you. more voices are better than one after all.

I'm just a pervert, what do I know about game politics ahahahaa.

We really need to get ahead of this and not take the "wait and see" approach. It's far easier to be proactive and implement an earlier WoE time now to keep everyone playing and spending. History has shown us that hesitation in fear of making decisions in haste has always had a negative impact on the population as a whole. Notices of the new WoE time could be put on the global announcements  today to start advising players  of the change.
