there should be a way really (dont know why there isnt), unfortunately afaik you can only retrieve the card and the gear you can say bye bye

Right now you can only retrieve the card (decard request) through GM support, the equipment will be destroyed in the process.

is there a reason why i cant retrieve the item with this kind of problem? Or why not just chose between what item will get destroyed?
