I thought for monsters we count the whole of the DEF when calculating attacks. Only for players do we play the Soft and Hard game.

Thana is simple.
It applies the Occult Impaction damage formula to EATK. Aka if a monster has 88 DEF (this is NOT soft def), then it would add 44 EATK.
It then proceeds to pull a SS card effect by ignoring the targets DEF and Soft DEF.
If you want to calc Soft DEF to confirm which is which, it is Target's Level + Target's Vit then divided by 2.
**EDIT**
Also forgot to mention the EATK that thana adds is much like how a Drosera card adds CRIT chance, it doesn't visibly show in the status window.

iRO wiki says that def A+B, A is for soft def and B is for hard def. Thanatos card have occult impaction effect atk + hard def / 2. MVP Thanatos have 364 + 64 def, according to iRO B is the hard def which is 64 in the case of Thanatos, 64 / 2 = 32 atk (only) will be added to my atk? That's relatively low. Am I correct? (I hope I'm wrong.) TIA.
That is correct. tested many times.
