I'm not really pro MVP sets, but I think in the current state of the game, DEF and MDEF formulas do more harm than good. Specially MDEF. The fact that the effect that allows one to bypass them is an old, outdated MVP Card is just a detail, as many MVP cards were made completely obsolete by game mechanics and other pretty normal items.

 

They could also rebalance Def-Ignoring skills and the MDEF formula, but we know they won't be doing it.
