I've had this problem for a while - meaning like a year, and I haven't found a single solution for it.
I can't switch to any channels (including the public ones) except for party and guild, and the only way for me to leave the party channel is to be glitched out by not being in a party.
I've reinstalled the game twice and I still have this problem. Really need to solve this because getting a party for DWL/DWU is downright impossible without it.

You mean the Chat Channels, yes?
Have you already tried typing in:
/1 for Public Channel
/2 for Trade Channel
/3 for Party Channel
Not sure about switching or leaving, as in you might want to actually not see chat from a certain channel, since I haven't really done that myself. But when you right click on a tab above your chat box, you do get the options on what channel chats you want and don't to appear on your chat box.
