I have no idea, some time when i walk around the town the suddenly a Windows message popped up just to tell me the following:

Ragexe.exe

Ragexe.exe has stopped working

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

 - Check online for a solution and close the program

 - Close the program

How can I solve this problem without any clue from iRO?

It only appears recently after the 22nd November patch.

Thank you in advance.

Try the following:

Warning: Don't follow these instructions if you last updated your client before 2016/11/17 because doing so will cause your client to skip installing one or more updates.
  • Close any and all open clients.
  • Download the following file:

    patch.inf
  • Navigate to the IRO client installation folder in File Explorer/Windows Explorer.
  • Replace the file patch.inf with the version you downloaded in step 2.
  • Open the Renewal client.

Thanks for the advise.

But what is the root cause and is it common?

There is a bug in the updater/patcher that causes it to occasionally skip installing the latest updates. Yes, it's a common problem.
