Not mad or anything, it's just a heads up to those on the CM/GM team who appreciate customer feedback.

90% of what I got last two times I bought boxes, and I spent quite a hefty sum, was useless to me. It's so useless it's not even worth vending. Deviling hats for example, sell for 2m each but the box cost 300kp. That is not a good at all, especially when you consider for the same price I could have just bought three token of siegfried boxes and sold them for 15m each, netting me 45m.

It's also pretty annoying when I'm told on several tiki tuesdays to bring it up, and it gets blown off every time with a "I'll mention it to Camp" but the subject is ignored in Camp's threads.

attn community: Please use this thread to suggest what items you would like to see in boxter.

For me it's Deviling, KVM badges, and those stupid punctuation mark costumes that I have not met a single person who actually thought they looked cool, and have never seen anyone actually wear one.

I wanted medals cause I am a lazy lazy man. Didn't get any after spending quite a bit though.

I don't mind spending money on iRO, if I didn't spend it on iRO i'd probably just spend on something equally as stupid, but I still want value for my money.

It really should, it's a valid concern. The items in the boxes are recycled things that almost no one wants.

The only reason someone wants Boxter so badly is because they made an investment on buying some kp hats for cheap and wants to cash out through boxter.

That's the gamble they took and they want to ensure their gamble is getting them something by posting on forums to get Boxter in :)

Don't get me wrong, Boxter is in fine. But Boxter should be in and accept current Box gear vs accepting hats from the previous box.

Also, the OP mentioned he bought boxes for medals, KNOWING he can potentially get other stuff that he may not want. So because he ended up getting things he didn't want, he ends up begging on the forums to somehow benefit from his gamble? To me he sounds like he knew exactly what he was doing before he made every purchase.

You dont get it. This is not about gambling or not. This is about keeping up to date a valid feature of the game. That being Boxter.

Management has been way too lazy on that.

Kafra Shop it is supposed to be an important form of revenue for WP. Boxter makes your customer happy and you dont have to take my word - or anyones - for that, mine your data when you actually do the job of keeping Boxter working as intended.

Here goes a post to the longevity of your business.

Not saying it's not a valid concern, but if you think one person making a thread saying he won't buy boxes anymore (he probably will) will cause them to suddenly change the way they operate, you're crazy.  How long has this been an issue for?

Lucky boxes will be a cash cow if they update boxter every month.

Lucky boxes will be a cash cow if they never update boxter again.  .

It is just right to update boxter. Many player are buying lucky boxes because there is supposed to be a boxter. Obviously boxter was put there for a reason and right now it is not serving it's purpose. Boxter is literally shouting "Hey buy many lucky boxes, dont worry coz i am here" Boxter should be updated. If they dont plan to put it or update it then let them have an official announcement that it will not be updated anymore or whatsoever, then let's see how it affects lucky boxes. The thing is, Oda/iRO is keeping players/buyers hanging by saying, "ill tell Camp" etc etc which is not leaving a good impression.

People buy boxes because they can afford it. It's as simple as that.

The drop in price for this week's box items are proof of that. People will continue to buy boxes regardless if boxter is updated and the ones who really utilize Boxters are the ones who buy the kp items from other players who are vending them for less than what the box is worth.

It doesn't matter to me either way, but it is sad to see people getting so upset about it, knowing exactly that sometimes the things you get from Boxes won't always have a good return.

You didnt get the point, people will always buy boxes but on how many boxes, boxter affects it clearly in someway. Boxter also affects whether people are willing to give those trashy items to friends/newbies or sell it to NPC just cause it is taking too much storage, but with boxter, people are reluctant to do it. iRO should be clear about this so many can clear there storages if ever those boxter will not be updated for good

iRO GMs should make a stand to whether they make boxter stay or not so people stop expecting. AS SIMPLE AS THAT

As I said, the ones who benefits from the Boxter are those who take advantage of people buying cheap worthless kp gear that no one wants from the kp boxes.

The Boxter gives no incentive for someone to buy MORE boxes after fulfilling their purchase limit. From what I've seen, people turn in items into grannie points to try and get another roll at some box. It rarely ever makes the person pull out their credit card again to purchase more.

You can create all the "what if" scenarios you want. How I see it, which I am sorry that you can't see the same way, is that Deviling Hat [1] is currently at 3mil right now. If someone, I don't know, maybe the OP has 50 of these hats and Boxter comes in accepting them for 300 brownie points each, then guess who profits if she ends up giving out boxes for 500-1000 brownie points? Sometimes you can save up brownie points where you can wait for one of those op Lucky Boxes that gives a free Bloody Branch if you open it. Or you can open a box and finally get that sweet sweet item you want that you were trying to get before, which you now don't need to buy anymore lucky boxes!

KP is currently going for about 13-15mil per 100 kp. For 3mil, you can essentially buy a kp box for 10mil if you collect enough hats.

So does it promote people spending more? I don't know, but it's an unlikely scenario to me. I've purchased my fair share of boxes and I had a gf who spent $3000 a month on boxes. And believe me, Boxter isn't the reason why they open it and it's there for players who have tons of zeny they can use to invest in.

They can pretty much treat boxter as an "event" thing and update it with whatever they want whenever they want. They got no obligation to nothing whatsoever lol

And that is true for every thing in the game so I fail to see the value in your point.

Back to OP. In previous years Boxter was a thing. You could get additional value returning things, though with a lot of attrition in the process. This year the feature has been for the most part not updated. If it is due to decision or omission remains to be seen.

Hopefully GMs will at least consider the topic. When stablished channels like tiki tuesday or patch notes dont work, things come here and sometimes we get answers, for whatever is worth, +1 to put grandma to work harder.

thing is the official statement they said during the past months/years (not few months back) is boxter will always get updated every lucky box.. that has stopped happening almost half a year already and we can clearly feel that they are being lazy about it than being treated as an "event". Ofcourse that can always be an excuse  but it is clear

But everybody knows it's lazyness :v
Just like VIP summoner never going back to event mode(even before central lab), or spotlights not being implemented poperly, heck, even removing some events on the dates they should leave :v

Now we are talking and this is the concerning trend.

If you have been playing for a little while you can see lack of polish and dedication in areas that vary from complete expansions, to bugs in classes and skills, poor implementation of KP items (sheepie thing I am looking at you), blatant lack of expertise in customer support (ticket system) and now even granny is at fault.

Then players jump in and justify things on the age of the game. Vicious cycle, underpowered staff doing things halfheartedly, and a community that is either tired to push for change and see improvement at a low pace, or willing to accept the mediocrity in some areas of the game.

I have posted more today than in 2,5 years. I like RO, I like it a lot, I invest into my hobby as i do in many other things. I have a great guild and friends on this boat. Reading forums is usually what i do, for the most part looking at how the game changes and adapting to it at my best capacity. Now we have an inflexion point, we have transition and legacy with Mr. Oda departure. Hence please allow me to say: Mr. Campitor, if you will lead this game into a new stage (and I trust your intentions to do so), I kindly request you to aim for consistency in everything you do. I cannot speak for others or aim to represent any faction. These are the 2 cents of a player who is willing to stay in this IRO island for as long as it exist. Sometimes your staff try to do many things, and end up doing none. I hope this feedback is of use for you.

although i agree they need to update boxter as soon as the new lucky box comes in to reflect the content, i also agree on Demeris point that they should keep the brownie rewards only for "turning in the technically good stuff" where in the example, we all know deviling hat is not used outside cosmetic reasoning but the hat itself drops more regularly and therefore letting it be converted back into points is a real serious kick to WP's pocket.
Oda and Camp posting the rarity of lucky box drops has been a very good step into the right direction for those who complain theres no clarity in the drop rates (which I still dont understand why people QQ about it, you would spend money on gachinko and slot machines and those give no clarity ((apparently there is a trick to it I heard from someone but i dunno)) at all. Lucky boxes are a gamble in its own right and though I shouldnt really be mixing it into the same bag as slot machines at casino's its pretty much the same processes that go into them, we buy and hope we get something big at the end.

However, I still agree an update of boxter at the same time as the release of a new lucky box should be a sound and reasonable request.
