Since I could not find any details or comparison on spear study on royal guard, has anyone make this comparison (on spear) and mind to share this?

 

Ever since introduction of crimson gears to Chaos renewal, most people focus to invest these weapons due to higher base Atk, provided overupgraded number

 

Lets say, if compared similar refine rate of weapons (eg +12), which one handed spear are still the best for royal guard?

 

a. imperial spear

b. crimson spear

c. thanatos spear

d. long horn

e. hunting spear

f. brooca

g. glorious spear

h. etc?

a. Best PVM spear for VP & CS

b. Probably current best PVM spear for OB at high refine (+15 and above)

c. Best PVM Survival Spear for RG, very effective leech rate through OB on big mobs

d. throw it away, crimson spear saint triumphs in terms of damage and extra slots

e. Best PVM spear against brute race especially for OB

f. Best PVM spear against very high def monsters with neutral elements

g. Best PVM spear against demi-human race, PVP and WoE especially for EB

h. Gungnir, best starter spear for swordman class, usable since level 4 with extra hit bonus and 2 slots (socket enchant version)

    Cannon Spear, second best spear for CS use after imp. spear

    Tjungkuletti, best moonlight dagger substitute for Sader and Paladin but for RG thanatos spear still triumphs over it

     Battle Hook, ripped off glorious spear version that enable pierce skill usage on paladin class

     Pike, best hp leech spear with 4 HF before ghost palace instance was introduced and best PVM spear during pre-renewal era

     Eden Spear I, second best starter free spear with free 2 pcs pre-determined racial cards effect to choose

     (brute, plant, fish, insect and dragon)

Cannon Spear(the weapon) is better than Imperial Spear for CS, but requires some investment on the refines.

The maximum biolab enchant potential that cannon spear can reach only EA 6, while Imp. Spear can reach EA 12 potential from malangdo enchants although cannon spear got more benefit from the refine bonus attacks due to level 4 weapon when compared to imp. spear

 

also adding the 10% base higher CS damage bonus on imperial spear when compared to cannon spear according to divine pride which also mention VP damage boost, but according to iROwiki it's ony 7% above the cannon spear and not boosting VP at all  (there's a bit of inconsistency here)

 

I never bothered to try the cannon spear in the first place though due to suck biolab enchant chances when compared to malangdo and weapon break penalty on fail attempts

Despite the extra CS skill damage bonus its still considered underwhelming compared to other RG main damaging skill like VP, OB and EB furthermore it's still bugged as "vogue", maybe everything changes when iRO introduces biolab 5 worn out crown of defender

one punch shuckel aint lyin'. Cannon Spear also gets more atk per refine (level 4). I tested two out and I'm actually kinda happy with it. Just need high STR for the skill, and overbrand is probably easier/better for most anyway. 

 

IMO the real question is this:

 

What to use for the following 3 skills: 1) Overbrand, 2) Banishing Point, and 3) Exceed Break. I'm pretending this is a PVM exclusive question.

 

1) Crimson, Hunting, or possibly Brocca if enemies are very high def. Could also use Thanatos 1-hand spear for leech reasons. I think a crimson spear with the formless/demon combo is a good idea, especially with the shield counterpart to it for damage + defense piercing. 

2) Imperial Spear

3) Hunting Spear*

 

*don't have to use a spear for this skill, and so in some cases non-spear weapons are better (Gigant Blade, Bellum Guillotine, Mjolnir, basically anything with high weight and level 4)

ImperialSpear - best Vanishing Point, thus best MVP kill weapon.
(When the Worn-Out Crown of Defender gets implemented, this might replace Crimson Spear for Mob kills) (Look it up on youtube)

Crimson Spear - best Overband. if you want to max your damage, this is the weapon.

Thanatos Spear or Thanatos Long Spear - If you dont mind doing a littlebit less overband damage, you should get this as this provides you the HP & SP drain from monster kills.

Long Horn - I have not compared the actual damage but I think this is still better than Crimson Spear saint FOR VANISHING POINT. Obviously, for MVP purposes, an Imperial Spear with Aspersio enchant would do better damage. But if you want to save zenny, you should use this instead. Yes, a +14~`15 CS Saint has a lot more ATK and has 1 more slot which means you can an additional 25% more weapon atk from an AK card. The thing is, EA5~6 does more damage bonus than an AK card for an Inspiration RG with stat foods. Expert Archer  affects both Equipment ATK and Status ATK. Plus, If your Long Horn has EA10, then that will do more damage than an AK card for sure. Lastly, Long Horn is a lvl4 weapon.

Imperial spear way to go. Specially once imperial set from jro comes. This will be the best combo ever. Right of knight protection + imperial ring + imperial earring + imperial spear + imperial guard + bio lab 5 hg. Make RG great again
