Why will someone want to buy  1000 of UNID Red Flame Whip in eden 1F?

    Am i missing some hidden event?

2. red flame whip is the highest weapon level 3 dropped by regular monster with high spawn. i myself already broken more than 2500 red flame whips. pretty much a 'feast' when medusa was on TI, and double drops. a piece of whip can be guaranteed dropped from one pile of mob.

I'm bored. Let's do some lazy math based on a total freestyle. 

 

Assuming you use a mastersmith with job 70 bonus you have a 12.6% chance to +8 a level 3 weapon (using wiki's refine numbers + 10% bonus from smith added on top of each refine level.) 

 

That means 126 of those whips will go to +8. I'm not sure what the probability of getting the 2 certs from a +8 is, so I'll assume 20%. My experience anecdotally is lower, but eh. 

 

This means that you will get 100 failing and 25 succeeding for a total of 150 weapon certs. The quantity of Ori you need will depend on when weapons break, but you'll need a minimum of 6 per weapon and an additional 2 per the ones that succeed for 6000 + 252 (6,252) and we can assume that at least half of the ones that break will go to +6 safely and so an additional 1 for the 774 that will break (7,026). 

 

Red Flame whips sell for a ragial average of 22k, let's assume 20k for bulk discount (that's 20m zeny cost.)

 

Current ragial average for Ori is 69,000 zeny (I approve of this price). Let's assume you get a bulk discount at 60,000 zeny and so you will need 60,000 x 7,026 = 421+ million zeny to get there (on average). 

 

421m + 20m for 441m cost. 

 

The 150 weapon certs will go for let's say 6.4m (average is 6.5 but some are selling for 6.25) for 975 million zeny which minus the 441 million zeny cost will put you at around 534 million zeny profit. 

The math above is by no means precise and it assumes a 20% chance for eat gear to succeed and average luck when refining the whips.

Gave this a go last week but my RNG sucks.

 

300 Ori = 20.7m

2 Safe Certs = 12.8m

Total Loss = 7.9m

 

As mildcontempt says though, need bigger numbers for bigger results/averages, which I can't afford right now.

When I was farming crimson katars in the injustice low TI, I gathered about 100+ of them and (perhaps foolishly, considering the refine event that came soon there-after) tried to refine them with my mastersmith (I had accumulated 400+ oridecon at the time from haphazardly picking them up). Results were.... underwhelming. Also, safe certs are less relevant now and will regularly drop below 5m.  

 

I applaud anyone willing to put in the effort to do this, and I assume over time it will pay for itself, but my laziness is so ridiculous that I'd rather just spend the 400+ m on the investment system and/or spend the time farming instances that yield decent payout per 20 or so minutes. 

 

Still, if you don't have a char who can solo the newer instances, it's definitely doable.

   He specifically asking UnID - medua drop red whip (most) alone with other whips.  even crimsom is 100k or less, trader are lazy to vend.  How on eath for a farmer to farm medusa and try to find unid red flame whip based on the effort of looking the indivigual weight?

Either Blacksmith/Mecha or Bio/Gene can hold lots of Whips

What do you mean? If you level at Medusas you can farm plenty, especially during double drops. Or when they're in TI, etc. 

 

You just dump them in storage every 50 or so whips you get (they are pretty light, only 70 weight).

for every 20 whip i got, 19 is red flame whip, 1 is sea witch foot. i just throw the sea witch foot on the floor.
which part you dont understand again? what point should i prove that this business is easy and profitable?

When I open buy store in Prontera, I can usually buy 150~200 overnight. I won't question my provider's source, though. 

 

BTW, when I tried doing the same thing in Dewata (but buying it rough), it was WAY harder to buy.

i can buy 2000-3000 ori overnight. once i bought a cheap ori from vend bot. i bought all his ori, then the shop closed (even tho he has another item on the shop), then go back to kafra, restocked, then go back to THE SAME SPOT. i tried to PM to do trade via deal than vend, but i got ignored while the vend bot keep on doing its chore (sell ori. ori sold out, restock ori, vend on same spot).
i checked the other goods to see the source of those ori. there were a bulk of hunterfly cards, bathory cards, whisper cards and high refined crimson rods.
so my conclusion is:
the rough ori farmers from hunterfly bots and bathory bots is actually the same person.

it is crazy since rough ori from hunter fly is dropped at 1%, while i bought 2000-3000 oris from the bot. what massive bot able to produce 15k rough oris dropped at 1% chance.

I remember last time medusa was in TI i had it the other way around, more seawitch than red flame.

And yeah thats damn massive botting right there to get a turnout of r.elu.
