Regarding forced neutral pseudo elemental attacks

1. What is psuedo elemental? Please elaborate this. I dont quite get the explanation in irowiki

2. Does elements affect neutral based skills damage? For example, a sura with elemental converter hits me with gates of hell while im wearing dr garment. Does the damage gets reduced or increased?

3. Would GR armors be rendered useless if you are hit with pseudo elemental attacks?

Pseudo elemental can be clarified as Dual elemental, since damage elements is converted 2 times, first by weapon element and then by skill element.
E.G. Cart Revolution is pseudo elemental as neutral. When attack earth lv.1 monster. Its weapon and equip atk normally deal 100% dmg. If use fire converter. Weapon and equip Atk would deal 150% dmg from elemental weakness.
But when attack ghost lv.3 monster. Even with converter. Weapon and Equip atk still be converted to neutral and will deal no dmg to target.

^That is my understanding of it as well. 

Pseudo Elemental is something that is able to benefit from converting, but is not able to hit something that has 0% to neutral. 

Forced Neutral is something like Guillotine Fist and Acid Bomb, which will not even benefit from converters.

 

Another thing to remember is that Status Atk is always neutral (unless someone is using Mild Wind), therefore the portion of damage from ANY skill which has Atk in it, will be reduced by GR Card according to the attacker's Stat atk.

GR does not, however, help with the Equip and Weapon Atk portion of a converted pseudo-elemental skill (like Tiger Cannon).

 

Gates of Hell is something of a special case. It has two parts in its formula. First is the standard atk part. This is pseudo elemental, and if used with converts, it will ignore GR card and neutral element reductions. The second part, which is the Missing HP portion, is forced neutral, and is also completely unreducable by all means, except for GR Card, Energy Coat, and WoE reduction (50%). The second part is functionally similar to Rapid Throw.

so that means when you're attacked by GOH with elemental converter and you're wearing a DR card, you'll be more dead than usual huh. thanks for the info. have a thumbs up, you two.

Yep. Deeper mechanism of pseudo elemental I found are...

 

1. There isn't only neutral that can be pseudo elemental. 20% bonus WeaponAtk from Magnum Break is pseudo elemental as fire!

2. From 1. Double-pseudo elemental could be occurred. Bonus Atk from Magnum Break that be calculated to Asura Strike damage act as both fire and neutral.

3. Asura and AB damage are semi-pseudo elemental. StatusAtk element can be converted through Mild Mild and would deal more or less damage depends on elemental weakness. (E.G. endows water to statusAtk. Your AB and Asura would deal more damage to Ifrit and LOSS all StatusAtk to Buwaya or Randgris because of elemental weakness.)

You know what is a needlessly complex bullshi mechanic? Left hand DD/katar offhand damage calculation. Thats the ultimate bs
