Hi,

 

I had try to understand how to play rg recently, and i found this Kingbird Imperial Spear, why does all the imperial spear had to put increase range damage also the enchantment that most people put in was Expert Archer.

 

What does this range damage had to do with the royal guard which i assume it is a melee attack job.

Vanishing point and Cannon spear but you're not wrong. RG is also a good melee class.

Imperial Spear is typically used for the ranged attacks (VP and CS) and thus would opt for EA enchants, while other spears such as Crimson/Hunting/Thanatos/etc. are more popular for the physical attack route (OB).

You can do both. Vanishing Point is your single target dps skill, often used for MVPing. Cannon Spear is an aoe skill that hits everything in a straight line with your character, has a pretty far range, and is heavily affected by STR. Over Brand is the "default" aoe skill, hits everything around the area it is casted, pushing mobs away, dealing extra damage if they hit a wall/obstacle.
CS and OB are the ones used for leveling the most, and both are pretty good, so it's up to each own preference wich to focus in(no problem in using both as well, they can be chained fine)

Try GH str boots if you dont have megs. You can try the CS/OB combo. Otherwise GH dex boots for fun? Idk xD

I was wondering the same thing and ended up spending most of my zeny to invest on a Kingbird imperial Spear and a garmet with menblatt card without realizing the skill's actual effects.

Nice video btw, what spear where you using when you did the OB and CS combo? Also, any particular armor you suggest for this build, as i am making the same one.

Nvm, just saw gears on the video. Damn, im far off from having good gears.

Does Ephemeral Megingjard still works?

according to irowiki, it is a 30 Day version, and is tradable, it will disappear when it expires.

If not, what would be a good alternative accesory?

You can still use the Imperial Spear for CS/OB mobbing, it's just not the best spear for OB. And armor wise, you can elemental armors to help tank skills or Orleans's Gown/GMR if you want uninterruptible cast and don't wanna use a Phen.
