Because there are about a half dozen threads on the front page asking for SC gear/build help and shadow spell chasers are my new obsession, why not just consolidate all the questions to one thread?  Especially since the pinned thread regarding Chaser gear is outdated.  Maybe one day I'll compile all the data (err... Ashuckel's replies) into a comprehensive guide.

Anyway, I'll start.  What are your thoughts on a.s.s Chaser footgear options?

 

 

Temporal agi ad4 /ld

Temporal agi ad4/rm (hate this one)

Temporal agi carded (nightmare verit perhaps)

 

Some people even use temporal int even though I personally think 120 int is a waste.  At the moment I'm using option 1 but the third option is intriguing but the 10% aspd hit could be too much.

Ad4/RM>ad4/LD>N.Verit

Nightmare Verit is obviously better than LD damage wise, but those 10% aspd may mean losing dmg elsewhere in order to get thay aspd.

RM is the highest dmg ofc, but your sp will be 0 for 95% of the time.

I plan to use LD for general purposes and RM against bosses when I would be ygging anyways.  Just can't see it being practical for anything beyond that.

What defensive options are there for ASS chasers? Considering most of us use bunny and nessus hbp where does the survivability come from? Do we sacrifice damage somewhere for it or just wait till we outdamage everything?

I use DR when needed but you really just need to have appropriate elemental reductions through your armor and mid head gear slot.  I like to default 3d glasses for a little extra neutral reduction.

look at what gxes use when they need reductions, you can do basically the same. You can have a shield card too if you want, it doesnt impact much on the dps, and better surviving than doing more dmg and dying.

To be fair, when someone asks for armor suggestions and you say "I used a tao, it helps a lot " (tenses btw, tenses), it's not only useless, but it seems rather arrogant.  It serves zero constructive purpose, and simply seems as if you're just bragging about having a tao.  Now I'm not saying that's what you were doing, but that's 100% how it came off.  I'm pretty sure no one on this forum would doubt that having a tao would "[help] a lot".

Akil will really love this, Shadow Spell MVP card discussion....besides the ones we've seen in Akil's videos, what MVP cards are best suited to Chasers?  Anyone tried Hatii/Baby Hatii combo? Dark Lord seems good, but is it good enough to lose out on ad4 temporal boots?

Hatii is for mob control so you shouldnt use it with aoe spells/procs, it would just neutralize the hatii.

Dark Lord procs when getting hit, wich is not often in most cases. I'd say Vespers, High Wizz(the cast and so dont matter for ctrl+click),Gioia, Nightmare Amon Ra, Regular Amon Ra(procs even on miss, so it can add a fair consistent protection, be carefull of the proc cast delay. Also can be carded onto anything), Amdarais, Champion Chen(another skill proc)

If i remember more i'll add it

I only used DL for the hp boost. Also for running around gramp turn ins.

How about a Pest card for armor, not an MVP card but also quite useful if low on budget. Works a little like Hatii card and has a chance of increasing MS damage. Also Byorgue card.

Weill I assume'd what you're going for is only PVM stuff? If so then Pest card would also be a good choice IMO since you're always gonna be mobbed.

Yeah, if you're struggling with mob control it seems like a very viable option.

Since you mentioned "end stuff" and it seems that PvM is not only your target, what do you plan to do with your auto-spell chaser? WoE/PvP? Just curious.

I just meant MVPing and tougher instances which would require elemental reduction armors.
