So according to description:

MaxHP, MaxSP +5%.
MATK +10, FLEE +10.
Variable casting time of Lord of Vermillion, Meteor Storm, Heavens Drive and Storm Gust is reduced by 1 second.
If the Upgrade Level is an even number, the cast cannot be interrupted and the variable casting time is increased by 20%.
If the Upgrade Level is an odd number, MDEF +1 and the variable casting time is reduced by 1% for every 2 refine level.

Is the odd number effect stackable? Or idk xD

Only one of the effects takes place at a time, either odd refine or even refine.

And your effects are switched up, it's phen effect at odd upgrades and mdef and cast reduced at even upgrades.

Wasn't the description like this:

Max HP/SP +5%.
MATK +10, FLEE +10.
Crimson Rock and Psychic Wave damage +10%.
Odd numbered Upgrade levels increase Floating Casting Time +20% and prevent casting interruption.
Even numbered Upgrade levels increase MDEF + 1 and reduce Floating Casting Time -1%.

Dont buy a +10 dude, just buy one and refine according to what you want, odd for uninterruptable and even for mdef ( i prefer The last because doesnt add variable cast time, but crimson dmg increase and pw dmg increase works at any refine lvl. (And 10% is noticeable)

Yeah I have a similar question. Mine is a +12 Hero Magic Coat, does it reduce VCT by 6% or just 1%? Anyone tested this before?

It should be 5% and 6% respectively. Mine are only +8/+6/+4, and I didn't bother testing... The best it has to offer is +10% Crimson Rock damage. XD The VCT is barely noticeable, even from +4 (2%) to 12 (6%, only 4% difference).

I see. So if my warlock uses Crimson Rock a lot, Hero Magic Coat with agav card will be an even better option than Brynhild?

Specifically for Crimson Rock, you're probably right. It's more like "In situations where my warlock uses Crimson Rock a lot" than "if".

Sorry to hijack his post.
My warlock is about to be level160, is the hero magic coat any good without red lichterns? All i have for now are tikbalangs and elviras (i use jf-fm-jf-cl which i think is time consuming)

With or without lichterns, it's 10% more CR damage. Why would it be bad

Plus some HP and SP, which are always nice. Plus 10 MATK which is close to nothing, but still something.

Oh is that what refining does? I always thought the -1%VCT every 2 refines was simply a constant. So a +12 robe would still only be -1%VCT, not cumulative.

Well, thats true its not bad. Im sorry if i have not expressed my thought well enough. What im trying to get at is: will the 10% increase damage help me 1shot bigbells with the current items that i have, or should i just keep using chainlightning on frozen bigbells?

It's almost impossible to one-shot big bells with current iRO gears. Forget it. The most efficient strategy is to two-shot them with Crimson Rock, and the Hero Magic Coat may help you achieve it, if you can't with current gears/buffs.

I see. Thank you for the input! Will the increase in mdef piercing from lacryma/pororoca and bigben+neopunk make a difference? Tho I have not gotten a bigben card for my lacryma

Edit:
Big numbers coming out with my current gears (makes me smile seeing 80+k of jackfrost damage after frost misty and upto 6digit first hit of cl on frozen bigbell) but the casting time is meh. I guess ill stick with temp dex and crimson rod while grinding at nct.
