I decided to play back RO2 after 2 years, but seem like I finally understand why this game doesn't really grow after 2 years. First things first high level people just refuse to help low level player to get through some of the dungeon which turn out we stuck at there for a long time. This is the major reason why the community in RO2 doesn't growth, because a lot of player just refuse help out. The game already in the edge of die-ing off? This is the only way to increase the player population in this game. But well, so I & my friends around 10 people decided to leave this game, seem like there is not much improvement of the game after 2 years, which is a huge failure! 

 

So once again thanks for the few weeks gaming experience, but we won't be coming back anymore. 

I would say there is better game out there having the same platform and game style of it. RO2 nope.

I hear you. I feel for the new player that cannot complete the quest.

I feel that the lvl 1-50 dungeons should be soloable on an easy mode

since the population just isn't enough at those levels to make parties.

 

I am only one player, among several, that DO HELP the new players out.

I've been known to spend over an hour a day just helping new players.

The helpers are just not enough. & We are not always on. But we try...

 

I don't blame you for getting exasperated at being stuck in the quest.

I won't tell you to change your mind or to come back. I will say I that I

am sorry the opening of the game did not manage to work out for you.

 

If I were just starting now, I wouldn't last for long either, without help.

I post this advice not to the original poster, since they have bid adieu,

but to the next new players that might see this post, and then feel like

there is no help to be had in game. There is. Maybe sparse. It's there.

It will find you if patience is a part of your play-style. Consider that if

you are asking for help, you are asking for the helper's patience too.

 

Idk about other helpers, but I never boost. I only help questers thru

dungeons. Boosting is boring. I want to enjoy the game I am playing.

Asking someone to not enjoy the game so that another can is unfair.

 

For those that do want help in dungeons, here's how some of the

helpers connect with you. Use 'N' Party Finder. It may take some time

before someone replies. We do not always play at your schedule, we

are people/players with schedules of our own too. But we periodically

look in 'N' (especially when warping elsewhere is convenient for us).

 

You can look in Find Party Chat Channel /3. & Spam there all you like.

We may not look there because it isn't always convenient to have /3

enabled, as it spams away our chat, but we look there when available.

 

Ask in pub, BUT DON'T SPAM! You are far more likely to get a reply of

help if you don't spam, as spamming pub is unnecessary & unwanted.

IF we reply to spam in pub chat, it only encourages more spam in pub.

 

If pub is full of toxic drama or a single player's monologue, I will likely

turn it off. GMs used to manage pub chat to keep that in check. Sadly,

now that sort of thing makes some helpers harder to connect with...

 

Again, a reply might not be immediate. Don't expect helpers to always

be available at a moment's notice. We may be mid-fight when you ask.

We may be afk. We may be helping someone else. Patience is needed.

I tend to offer help w/i 5-10 minutes of seeing someone ask for help...

Well, when i began to play this game a few months ago, i didnt do those dungeon quests bcuz they are too hard to do as low lvl.

I just moved on and did those quests which i could handle alone. Im more like a solo/single player.

Later when i was Masterlvl, i went back and did those quests bcuz i was strong enough now. But i saw its totally useless to do those at Masterlvl. The reward is crap.

 

I helped alot newbies through those dungeons, but i got tired to do this.

I dont wanna say that newbies should just skip the dungeons, as i did, but when you dont get help for a long time, then just move on and do what you can do.

The content below ML1 is irrelevant now. Which sucks since it's most of the game's maps. People just boost their way up to 50, or avoid dungeons completely since you get enough XP for 50 without them. WP said they're gonna make the old lvl 50 raids worthwhile again in the future but it sucks that all the cool dungeons that used to be fun pre-AoV are pointless now.

Please reconsider your leave and give this game another chance: Ragnarok II community isn't wide but I assure you that you will always find a person willing to help a newcomer. Only when there is an ongoing in-game Event (i.e. Happy Hour Box, Dapara Week) the research of an helper becomes harsher, so please always consider this whenever you are looking for help.
Whenever you are online between 12:00 and 14:00 Server Time, I would be glad to help. Use the public chat in the proper way, in both /1 and /3 channels and do not forget the "Party" function (hotkey 'N').
Finding somebody who will help you won't be as easy as drinking water but you can trust me, so many people are willing to help!
On the other hand, I am totally aware that the Dungeon system is now outdated, the good thing is that Warp Portal is making many radical changes to the game, and I am sure the Dungeon System will be reviewed one day.

I'm feeling the same at the moment.

 

I don't see anything to help newcomers, that is sad for a MMORPG.

 

High level players or Veterans players should help others on forums (there are some of course !) with their knowledge

- Old dungeons below ML are irrelevant. You can go back to them once you've reached master level with ML1 green gears to complete your quests and continue the quest line.

- What's the fun of having someone clearing the whole dungeon for you? The boss dies so fast you won't even see what happens, and what their powers look like.

 

What the game lacks is enough new players willing to group up (1 tank, 1 healer, 3 dps) and do the dungeons. I still sometimes help newbies with their dungeons whenever I feel like. Putting the blame on the players and not the game itself for its supposed failure is not very correct.

Sorry to hear that they did not have as great an experience.   However for any newcomers coming in, Ragnarok 2 is in the middle of some amazing changes one of which is to help that little leveling issue.  In the last year since Warpportal took over, we have spent a lot of time listening and honing everyone's suggestions and those suggestions are slowly but surely coming to fruition.  We hope to see many of those changes this year.

 

Until then, if I'm running around in game on my character or on our Stream doing a Let's Play, I usually allow just about anyone to join my party.  So just keep an eye out.
