Hello guys, I have some questions about leveling a Monk/Champion/Sura

I really love to play as a full combo monk and I want to keep this build until 175, and I prefer using Knuckles(I know it's kind underrated compared to maces but I really don't like maces and don't even know why monks can use maces in this game but ANW).

So...i really don't know if a Sura can solo level, neither how is the leveling of a Sura, but I'm going to take a look at that later^^, for now I would like to know the best equipments and cards for a solo leveling with a full combo monk/champion

which is the best knuckle out there?

Combo Glove?
Iron nail?
Spartacus?
Crimson Knuckle?

Is there a weapon I can use from monk leveling until Sura 175?(crimson knuckle maybe at +15?(lol)

What about cards and equipments that a monk/champion should use for full combo level up?

What about the auto casts cards and equipments like Injustice card,CD in Mouth, Gorilla Model Hat, Bloody Knight card, RotFL/RoR,Ifrits Crown,Snake Hat, Sidewinder card, etc etc etc...?

In the moment I'm using:
Morrigane Set
Eden maceIII - because I haven't found anything interesting to use besides it
Eden Boots IV
Eden Armor
Cd in Mouth
A Buckler

my Monk stats are 6x of STR and Agi, 4x of Dex, 25 in VIT and 20 in LUK

I know I must focus on STR/Agi/Dex for maximum damage and some Int for SP but, Are LUK and VIT completely useless for full combo?

I currently have a LVL 118 / 28 Sura, and its my 1st character to boot. With that in mind, I'll give you the best input that I can provide.

Regarding equipment, these are the choices I would recommend and why:

Weapon: Crimson Knuckle is the best option due to its DMG scaling based on its refinement and your character's base LVL.

Headgear: Rideword Hat because it can drain HP and SP. I know that you have the Morrigane Set, but I still wanted to mention this.

Footgear: Temporal Boots; VIT or STR related equipment with VIT being preferable. More HP as a melee class = less chance to die :D

Garment: Heroic Backpack, Fallen Angel Wings, or Giant Faceworm Snake Skin; all have good stats, but each piece has a specialty; choose what you would prefer.

Armor: This is tough to decide because I haven't found many Armors that work well with the Monk/Sura class. My best advice to pick an Armor that can buff HP.

Shield & Accessory: Thorny Buckler + Bison Horn; reflect physical DMG and an attack speed increase. Need I say more?

Now for the stat distribution discussion:

I would say that STR, VIT, & DEX are most important to a Sura, but having high AGI is also important unless you have high tier equipment designed for increased defense.

I don't think there is any reason to invest in the LUK stat as a Sura, even if you can make a build that can Perfect Dodge. I say this because Combo Skills can not critically hit, so that makes the critical hit increase from LUK somewhat worthless.

Also just for character stat reference, my Sura's stats are currently 74 STR, 92 AGI, 76 VIT, 25 INT, 74 DEX, & 1 LUK at LVL 118/ 28.

I hope that post helps you and if you would like to talk more about the topic, you can always message me.

good input from bro7186161111021400550

just an add-on suggestion on the armor - do consider Orlean's Gown

if you plan to continue with FC / TC Sura, you may consider carding it with Pecopeco Card for more max HP

since Orlean's Gown has uninterruptable cast, this free-up your accessories for more options like Gold Scaraba Card perhaps.

wouldnt a mace class be better in-terms of damage wise? then again, i have been a mace fan all this while vs knuckles.

have fun!

Yes, Spartacus or a highly refined Crimson; Combo Monks don't have too many knuckle options. Get you one.

There are also a few things to note about a Combo Sura. First thing is, get Chain Crush Combo. Most people will say "what, no!" But, they aren't playing a Combo Sura. If you are serious about leveling a Sura as Combo, max that CCC! Secondly, you are gonna need a really good Armor and Garment; for Armor I would suggest Ebone Armor slotted with a Pecopeco card. Yea, Thorny Buckler/Bison Horn set is also great for a Combo Monk. Finally, ATK is all. Stack that like a mad fool.

As for stats... STR should still be your main stat. VIT and INT are secondary stats; keep your focus on STR and DEX. As for AGI... Get it to 70; 80 if you really need it. Boosting it with cards and gears is very possible for Monks. INT should be your dump stat. Finally, and sadly, LUK is almost useless for Monks; we can't use Crit increase gears, nor can we use P. Dodge buffing equipment other than Valkyrie Manteau (Valk Manteau is a decent starting gear though; but by Sura there is much better options). Crit Monk is dead. T_T

i play every type of sura except woe/pvp sura so i can give you some good pointers.

if you're going combo monk, you definitely want to have autocast features that benefit you. you should be aware that some autocast features have negative effects.. or what players would deem 'negative specific' effects. the ring of resonance and ring of flame lord combo versus the advanced ror/rofl combo is a perfect example. the normal set makes the user proc g-fist (which wastes SP and spheres) and sonic blow (powerful, but the after delay is slow and annoying). the advanced set does not; those 2 skills have been removed out of the autoproc skill list. although gfist and sonic blow are good skills when used alone, you do not want these skills procing off randomly and eating into your DPS or your SP supply.

autocast both can and can not be good depending on what and when you want said skill to proc. some skills overwrite or come before others. some skills hitlock you or keep you from moving forward. research that here

a pretty good gear setup for an autocast combo monk would be:

eddga hat
black devil mask
CD in mouth
diabolus armor w/ porcellio card (or you could use an Agav card to get 5% more magic attack for CD bolt damage, but long term you want straight attack-based diab armor)
spartacus or c.knuckles (but remember you can still play combo monk with maces) use this and look at the card list for weps. too many to name.

heroic backpack OR fallen angel wings w/ wakwak card & fighting spirit enchants, or even just a raydric card for 20% neutral resistance
anything +9 with a firelock card that you can wear. when you pass 100 you can use temporals. temporal strength/fighting spirit/bear's power is a good combo, but you could use agi temps too which would proc aspd boost. you'll have to study the various temporals and their enchanted effects here.
a cheap secondary option is the bloodied shackled ball/shackles combo. accessory and shoes. an extra 50atk.
advanced ror/rofl rings.
if you're going into shadow gear, you at least want a full physical shadow set. there are various shadow costumes, as well as enchant options for upper/mid/lower/garment costumes. look into the amistr bags. ASPD+1 enchanted wings are also helpful, endgame.

note: the amount of stats you have for a monk are not that much. use this stat calculator and see for yourself. an autocast combo monk requires str for damage, int for the matk damage of the CD's bolts, agi for aspd and dex for hit/accuracy. for this reason, it would be better to use fallen angel wings over a heroic backpack (based on the stat descriptions of the two garments). its harder to hit the required 90 of any base stat for HBP with this build unless you sacrifice high numbers on certain stats - something that usually only wealthier people can afford to do because of their heavy gear investments.

an endgame lvl 99/70 monk stat setup for an autocast combo build could be something like:
70 str
80 agi

40 vit

30 int

60 dex

9 luk

you get 1 extra atk/matk, some pdodge flee and hit for every 3 base luk points you spend. all stat points have been used w/ this build and none remain. but its for a lvl 99/70 monk and obviously you'll transcend and hit champ & sura, so the points will be extra at that point. play w/ the calc for that.

if you want to ditch the autocast and just go straight damage/combo, you could do something like

eddga hat
bdm
jinn marin balloon
diab armor w/ porcel
wep of your choice

mad bunny shield w/ card of your choice. hodrem card is 'resistant'; 15% damage reduction from all sizes. likely the most used shield card. i forget if there are attack based cards for shield or not.
HBP with wakwak
enhanced variants w/ firelock card

2 rwc rings with FS enchants would be best, but rwc is account bound and costly. advanced ROFL by itself gives a nice str/attack boost. medal of honor is another option. fidelity necklace gives extra agi and resistance to animals. emerald earrings, though maestro based, are usable by almost any class including monks. an extra 5 int/dex/agi per accessory is pretty damn nice.. though not quite as fitting for a combo monk. but if you wanted to lessen your base stats on dex/agi, you could do so and get it back with these rings. the BsB combo i mentioned earlier is a cheap substitute for shoes/1 accessory. vesper core 02 and 03 are their own accessories for str and agi, respectively. if you got the cash, get a couple of bakonawa tattoos. there's probably more accessories im forgetting but this is good for now.

a good stat setup for straight combo monk would be:

80 str
90 agi
60 dex

20 vit

2 luk

but of course you can sacrifice agi for more vit. you would just get a bonus from the HBP if you kept any base stat on 90.

play with the calcs and check out gear search options on db.irowiki.org. there's a lot of info you dont yet have, but i hope this helps.

Actually now I am thinking about it, Temp Boots and GFSS of ANY kind would really ease your VIT burden. Probably the best defense equipment combo (especially if you can card it with a Raydric).

Also, I totally agree with Fuu on the BSB and Shackle combo, simple and effective and also cheapity cheap. Perfect pre-Sura.  :heh:

Last thing about once you get to Sura: You'll will likely need quite a bit more DEX if you intend to actually level via Combo.
