The hit box of the Pegasus F7 Golden space thief bomb monster is a statistical anomaly for some classes. Any opinions?

I do play this with other Ninjas, Savages, Invokers, Sorcs, Dragoons and Myrmi's and none of them has a problem. Not a single one of the people I go in there with has a problem hitting them. Have to admit none of my friends is "stacked". But we tried it with all the classes and only the particular class hitting them for the test.

Maybe take off your attack speed gear and try again?

Sentinels have a tough time using x attacks, book, poison arrow, double strike, multishot hitting the bigger bombs at a 100% rate from what I've seen. I don't think attack speed affect skills. The thing is other skills like aoe, traps, tesla, awakening all hit. Only certain skills don't often enough.

As ninja I can confirm if you are a certain distance away from the monster you can not hit it. You have to be in a  specific area near the monster, even though its a conal skill it misses a wide area that the monster should be in.

Talking about the bigger monsters, small ones aren't an issue. I could make gifs, but I'm lazy to run through pegasus. If no one has issues maybe it's just me. When I see my x or some skills hit dead center on that monster I expect it to hit rather than do nothing especially for such a large monster.

Maybe I should have rephrased it from classes into certain skills.

i dont see a problem the x spam class delete the normal bombs and back in the days they removed the elemental damage to bombs cuz they died too fast ,but nowadays they allow shaman to do it with smart shot and uncaped atck speed anyways  :gawi:

I'm just writing to make sure if Fliederduft understands the topic which is hitting the bombs in F7 Pegasus and not the Golden Space Thieves that are in the bonus room.

So, just looked over the forums and felt the need to answer here.

I am very sure Fliederduft knows what they are talking about because they already asked me by PM about this phenomenon people seem to have and they and their friends haven't. I checked with every class and have not any problem.

My advise: Put off your overstacked atk speed gear. And I will now explain why attack speed affects hit boxes.

If an attack uses particles/projectiles (invoker x-attack, dagger, etc.) the projectiles can be too fast in the calculation and miss the hitbox. Since the space thiefs are high and wide but not "deep" in their shape it's very easily possible the attack projectile is missing the hitbox (has to do with the tick rate of the server which is rather low for DS).

For every physics system which is not using continuous collision detection (CCD) it is possible that such projectiles are missing the hitboxes. CCD is very calculation intensive and not suitable for old unoptimized system like DS is using.

The initially planned max ATK and MOV speed is at 200% ATK and 200 Movespeed and not more to ensure that everything is working smoothly. Sadly the former Gravity devs seemed not to care about tick rates and other physics problems and just thought it is a good idea to skyrocket these stats without caring about the consequences which you are facing now in different situations (space thief hitbox problems, running through different enemy skills in PvP like not getting any damage for example if someone casts Blizzard, running around while being in a spider web etc. etc.).

This is enough from me until Monday, but I thought this needs clarification.

I think Gravity had laziness and never took into account distant future where these cases became so extreme or new classes in general. For example, right out of betas and such we had caps at most 60-65, but in earlier days they'd only be at the 50-60 range meaning these high values were not possible due to lack of IM sets and gear having different scaling values (flat vs % mspd, lower values in general from heirlooms).

I have tried this F7 again and lowered my attack speed from 190% to 100%, 0 improvement with the x attack.

I never had much attack speed in the first place with a sentinel so I was questioning that attack speed.

With a summoner or destroyer with 300%+ attack speed I have no issues x spamming that down and the hits are actually what it's supposed to be like.

However with 190% atk speed and 100% attack speed shootdown which scales with attack speed hits it at a 100% rate.

With multi shot which is also scaled with attack speed at 190% only 1 or more hit, with 100% attack speed it's the same thing.

Also yeah I've seen players outrun my skills even though the elemental animation hit them but don't take damage, walking from net binds, etc.

the only problem with this Golden space thief bomb is they are counted has a flying type monster so if you freeze then when they in the air you wont be able to hit them or when they are slow down there a moment when you cant touch them at all. i test many spell and class against them and it seem when they walk they do a little jump and make them untouchable by any ground only attack like basic attack or some ground spell.

Here is a small video showing the classes/skills hitting the golden space thieves:

I have cut the video to only show the best visible parts. It has been done with

Invoker / Diffusion Cannon X-Attack

Sentinel / X-Attack and Multishot

Ninja / X-Attack and Dagger

Please bear with me that I am not good playing non-invoker classes.

It seems that the problem some players have is a synchronization problem which may have to do with several circumstances. When I am back I'll look into it and check if I can do something. But no promise at this point.

I think you've noticed it when hitting the bigger bombs. It rarely hits them even with the attack speed you use or those particular skills. Anyways go back on vacation, doing your job isn't vacation! D:<

This has also been an issue for me too but I thought it was normal since those space thieves are jumping up and down. It's mainly with the bigger thieves not the little ones. One way that I fix it for invoker is to use barbarian and that will allow all hits to land for the duration of the stun.
