It's actually not pay2win. It's pay for convenience.

You're not forced to buy this item. Another player can buy this item for you and then you can offer in exchange for your zeny.

Pay2win is making these potions account bound and there's no other way to get it on your account

I consider giving anyone a financial advantage (they are paying to buy zeny essentially) an element of pay to win. If you want to debate this (I assume such is your purpose coming into the classic thread) I'm totally game for it. 

 

Pay for convenience would imply there's a gameplay method to obtain these items, without putting a financial advantage in the hands of another player. 

As a guildleader I'm more than aware of how zeny flow works and how cash pays into that. I may be wrong but when a player can make billions off selling WPE, they're paying to win. 

 

Thus all WoE meta items should have a method to be achieved via gameplay for ultimate fairness. kthx, good talk. 

 

tldr; WoE shouldn't REQUIRE anything from the cash shop to play on equal grounds. Mental pots and mega resists are a big deal. Classic has had this discussion about slotted mids, about certain hats, now I'm throwing the consumables on that pile because yeah. They matter. The difference between players matters. Players should have to LOG IN to earn their WoE mats, cuz guys, that's why Classic is so dead. Don't need to log don't matter.

This is off topic but it seemed like a lively thread to ask. Playing RO Journey made me want to try Classic again. I'm curious before I download, Is Janeway and that weird hub in old Payon still around?

Thanks for the quick response. Starting again is tricky so I find her quests useful. I just don't like how it can be discouraging from hunting in other spots. To return or not to return... X_x

I personally don't use janeway, I use something even worse (fencer scrolls) I still believe she needs to be kinder to those 70 and above because it really is like hitting a brick wall for levelling.

Returning player, and it's sad to see how gears rotate in and skyrocket in price.  Can we please have little feather hat back another round? Gear that is best in slot for certain builds shouldn't be restricted to a one time event.

I totally agree with the sentiment you have. It's wrong that such powerful gear is limited.

 

 

that said, LFH should really be disabled in WoE. it's stupid that a RENEWAL item (which adds about as much damage as a megingjard just saying) is on our server so powerful when it was actually nerfed on renewal for being too strong on sins.

 

Saying this as someone who loves crit sinxs. It's retardedly strong.

Don't try me on this myzery, I know practically everything about assassins pre-re. Moreover, I mained a crit sinx for WoE all the way until renewal hit. LFH was not part of it. I would have owned one, 110% if so.

kRO haven't always made the wisest choices. If you hadn't noticed, we are playing iRO and with that a classic version of iRO. What kRO did is irrelevant. Chances are they just threw gear in with zero caution because renewal was right around the corner. just like how they made mobs with stats destined for renewal before implementation.
