IMO they should just make it so 25 random cards can be traded for an old card album, or 100 random cards for a mystic card album.

 

It would saturate the market for a couple of weeks then stabilize and offer some form of retribution for terribad cards.

 

Hm, we already have enough instance & MVPs to obtain OCAs and MCAs. I personally think it'd be better if the exchange for the cards can be diverted to somewhere else, something that won't affect the game balance and the cash shop (like costumes).

Yeah I think 25 cards to exchange is fair enough. 5 cards is quite imbalance even in KRO, because of there is a rumor said it has a low chance to obtain MVP card via this method.
However. That is quite rare event, only occurs in the first week of the first month of each quarter. But that is enough for convert their trash cards that have collected for 3 months.

Nah, it needs to be self contained, you could estimate over 2m cards or more at least probably between various hoarders and players. Diverting that into anything other than itself would be catastrophic.

EMB already got destroyed by GFSS. It should have been zeny for people who's still beginning to play the game. In pRO there is a vending machine who exchanges cards for a random card. Some cards like willow and bot infested area are not accepted.

 

Maybe exchange card for consumable which would be account bound. 10 cards for 1 db or amulet is fine too.

Because ppl that are just starting in the game can totally run Faceworm.
And injecting more zeny in the game is always a bad choice.

How about a card collector NPC that rewards you with a chunk of EXP in exchange for some useless cards? Gives all those random cards a purpose and doesn't (further) break the economy. Any kind of item/money reward is kinda dangerous since some people might have a bajillion poring cards that they have been hoarding since 2003, but with exp rewards they'll only get some free levels for their alts.

Quite frankly I think that fear of bots abusing such a system is a little unfounded.  If you can trade cards for exp, why would bots want to use that to 175, when they're already botting to 175?  They'll be banned after a month anyway when the GM's do their monthly sweeps, I think they would much rather sell the trash cards to players for their exp value because the bot farms that farm up spores and stuff are doing it for zeny and not to have 175s.

 

I feel like the benefits to regular players would vastly outweigh the negatives.  Botters are gonna bot, nothing is going to change that.

bots dont level to 175. only very very minimum amount of them bots to 175 since most of them got banned while leveling on high level spots filled by real players (NCT, verus).
i know some people from facebook who sells account consisted by botted level 150 and under chars, those botters usullally go to 175 using conventional way to 175 such as bio4. then they will sell their level 175 accounts. i know some people who do that.

This sounds reasonable and make it only works with chars under 99 ... easy way to lvl a new char.

just toss them to the ground and never look back. let them looted by people, monsters or disappear on the ground. those junk cards wont give u significant profit anyway, why bother? just let them go. not everyhing in RO should be valueable tho.

Recently. I can confirm now that gaining MVP card from KRO card exchange  event is no longer rumor. :/
