ok it was. i'm sorry but the old RO player within me just can't friggen bare to see any card go to waste, even if it is a trash card that'll rot in my storage for all of digital eternity..


but still, something definitely needs to happen. how many people have accounts completed dedicated to cards alone? i had posted a thread on this a couple years back when bots were still a problem and man did that thread get mauled with negative commentary. but the bots are very limited now which is good. assuming they keep this up, then it might be alright to exchange them for something account-bound? i was thinking hugel medals too but the problem with that is of course hugel medals being exchangeable for things like ice picks or elemental armors, which still hold value. then i was thinking maybe mora/splendide coins but nope those too are also tradeable for stat gloves, class specific gear, costumes, and enchants. bots could sell that shiz.

but what about something like merc scrolls (bowman, fencer, spearman)? as far as i know those are only obtainable through B>stores or cash shop boxes. you cant get them from other players and although there's a vip system implemented, it sucks. newer players, who often find trash cards from lower level monsters that arent worth anything, could exchange them for merc scrolls which would help them level quicker and enter newer areas with monsters that have cards with more value. 0 bot problems because, as they're botted accounts which are likely disposable, merc scrolls would likely be insignificant. you could use them to level your bots, sure, but higher level bots are more of a risk to use because actual players would report them for being on harder maps, while lower level players might report them for being 'out of place/too high level to be there "leveling" for that long'.

but the primary idea is that bots could make 0 money off merc scrolls.

i dunno... everyone's thinking "lets make money off these cards". thought i'd switch it up and go w/ leveling. hell on that note you could maybe use account bound manuals as a form of exchange too.. since everyone is always whining for them

Or you could simply turn them in for EXP, as was suggested before. I'd be totally pro this measure.

I thought about that too but Gravity/WP would probably never do that. More ways to get manuals for free = less KP spent on manuals = they earn less money.

I had an idea, a special npc which taking your card for a special buff related to the card.

 

So lets just said, I have a poring card, I talk to the npc and I got:

 

LUK+2

P.dodge+1

 

for 30 minute.

 

to increase the duration you just need to add Zenny before the npc take your card and apply the specific buff to your char.

 

of course if you accidentally got killed you lost the buff.

trade X number of useless cards for level 10 mercenaries

trade 100 for a buff x100 hp/sp/dmg and transform u in big poring mvp form. In this form u can be attaсked by anyone player and u can attack anyone. When u died u will drop one of these 100 cards and killer will get 3% of your lvl exp as reward(but u will loose that exp even vip or 175)

We used to play Old Maid with junk cards.  While trading items between friends, we'd stick the cards in there.  The last person to end up with them for the week had to buy our potions after maint.
