Speaking as someone who barely touches renewal, I find the most off putting thing is how much $$$ is required to go into the kafrashop, via myself, or someone else, to get BiS gear. And once you get one, a new one is released.

 

It's a bit silly imo, when I'm like "how do I get < thing> ? And people are like "oh yeah it was in the kafra shop now you have to either pay tons of zeny from someone that horded them or wait for the next round when it's released as an S class item from a random box"

 

I already pay a sub for VIP, needing that kinda gear on top is redonkulous.

Aside from there nutty overseas boxes, power creep was fairly slow on Renewal. I personally feel like there's a lot of ways to make zeny, but the real issue is the stagnant market.

On what, making zeny? I'm not sure if you play anything other than support.

When all the gear/drops you need comes from the cash shop the in game farming becomes very ivalidated :/

about the stagnant market. I am shocked Myzery dear, I do more than just play support....................i am just more comfortable visualizing me as the saintly person whilst everyone else are thugs who's only purpose is to destroy all the enemies in my way.

The market is stagnant because there's nothing for people to spend large amounts of zeny on. This in turn inflates the prices of MvP cards. Most of the high end cards have doubled or went up by around 50% in the last year. There needs to be zeny sinks that are actually appealing.

There are still ways for people to earn zeny and have fun. Consumables are still needed and once people attain a certain status, they usually don't want to farm simple things and would rather buy them. At the moment, snake skins are still pretty damn lucrative. Probably too lucrative for what it was intended to be.
