Converters and the element of your weapon won't matter for elemental cannons. It will be 100% dark, holy or ghost.

 

As for neutral cannon balls, the output of your dmg receives the neutral modifier from your cannons plus the modifier of your weapon element or converter. Your wATK and eATK will be endowed. sATK will be forced neutral.

the 2nd line of answers confused me... basically for the neutral cannon balls part. im asking since im thinking of buying a +15 crimson mace or make one so does its attribute matter or not is my real question.

Only when you use a neutral element cannon ball it will take your weapon element.

so its kinda better to have neutral element then just get endow for fire/water/earth/wind? this is more for leveling purposes for the moment

If you want to have access to neutral element, then yes. Such thing is only """needed""" when there's a TI of like both holy and shadow monsters at high element lvl. You can perfectly do it by switching cannon balls, but you can also just put neutral and hit everything.
