I feel like the conversation about missing floor was going quite off-topic in the patch notes, so I'm going here instead.

First of all it's called LAA not PAE - Large Address Awareness. However this tool is not necessary anymore since LAA is already activated by default yet. Physical Address Extension is the hardware based technique while Large Address Awareness is the flag used in the Windows Operation System to make PAE possible for 32-bit applications.

If portals/textures/objects are missing from the beginning there might be a patching error. If these things disappear after time some kind of RAM is full and the game gets out of Memory errors - or - you use an Intel I7 of an older generation which has problems with enabled hyperthreading when playing older games (more regarding this issue can by found by using google search).

The game can use up to 2GB+ RAM in some specific situations when playing for hours and changing areas often especially to areas with a lot of players/monsters.
The 2GB+ problem is not a problem since Arcadia, the problem started especially with the introduction of the New Origin update.

For the LAA/PAE, well I stand corrected, I guess I confused them after messing with both in the past.
I still want to congratulate the development team that integrated that into DS since 2014, and fixed the memory leak that we had at that time.

I'm indeed using an Intel i7, but HT is disabled.
My desktop is mostly made of :
  • Intel i7 6700K, not OC, HT disabled at the moment
  • 8 GB DDR4 RAM
  • AMD RX 470, 8GB version
  • Windows 10
I noticed that the performance in Dragon Saga seems to be mostly CPU-bound, and the game seems to me single-threaded (in the task manager I often see one core with ~80% use, and another one with ~20% use), so I tried disabling HT to see if it could benefit the game a bit and avoid some massive FPS drop that I'm sometimes experiencing (I've read in many places, and seen quite a lot of benchmarks that shows that disabling HT can help a bit in games which are not multi-threaded).

I've heard of small performance drop (max 10%), but I've never heard of actual problems with i7. Any search key word suggestion to google the issue ? I'm only getting results about performance.

I'm going to reboot and enable HT to see if it changes something this evening. I will also check on other computers (I also have i7 3632QM + Nvidia GTX 660M laptop, and a i3 3***U laptop with iGPU).

So here's what I'm experiencing, every time that I go into the Secret Lava Cave :

We have several thousand players which don't have any problems with this game besides players who have a full RAM after some time. But my experience show that a handful of players actually have problems with i7 processors. What I meant was to search google about the general HT problems with older titles using intel i7 processors.

You still didn't answer if you encounter this problem immediately or after some time of playing. Also I notice that your char has the "Galaxy Expert" achievement equipped which means you're already playing this game for some time. Did you never come across that issue before? Did you try to use the pre-patched version which can be found as a pinned topic in this forum section? ("[Solution] Patcher Problems")

I don't really know, I didn't reach the level to go there myself, it's my wife who is encountering the issue. Will know for sure this evening when we'll try on all of our computers.

Not really, we started playing again around a month ago (chocolat event was there, I posted something on the Steam forums on the 20th of February), my wife did a lot of F7 to speed-up leveling, and with a good guild it's done really quickly.
As for 2017, yes, that map was always like that (hence why I moved away from the patch note topic, as it's not related).
As for 2014, I remember something similar on my laptop (i7 3632QM + Nvidia GTX 660M), but I'm not 100% sure that it was that exact same map.

Did you try to use the pre-patched version which can be found as a pinned topic in this forum section? ("[Solution] Patcher Problems")

Not yet, downloading it now so that we can try this evening.

Well, the experiment is a success, the graphic bugs are gone !

Files downloaded from Steam -> still buggy, no matter that HT is enabled or disabled, and going into the secret lava cave immediately after opening the game.

Files from the Google Drive links -> worked like a charm on the desktop, with HT enabled.

It also fixed the game on my Atom Z8300 tablet : I tried both Steam and the download link from the website, and I couldn't get the game to open, but with Google Drive, it opens (and also runs surprisingly well compared to my i7 3632QM + Nvidia GTX 660M laptop).

Thanks a lot for the help !

Please try the pre-patched download again. I just updated the links to the current version (0.5.78, Client version Arcadia Episode 2  v10.2.0.4).
