1) Assuming both are at +9 refinement, which would be better? 

• Ascendant Crown [1]
• White Eddga Drooping Hat [0]

 

2) Black Devil's Mask [1] is presumably the best middle headgear.  If not, what would be?

3) If the case is that Ascendant Crown wins, I see that multiple guides that suggest slotting headgears with an Arc Angeling Card(s).  In a melee build (with 190-193 ASPD), would Repair Robot Turbo Card be better than the Arc Angeling Card in the Ascendant Crown?  What card combination would work best for the headgears?

• 2x Arc Angeling Cards
• 1x Robot Repair Turbo Card (for the upper head gear for the +7 refine bonus) and 1x Arc Angeling Card for middle head gear.
• 2x Robot Repair Turbo Cards (if the effect stacks? --> 40hp/4sp in upper, 30hp/3sp in middle)

 

4) While we're at it, suggestions for lower headgear for melee (both with and without link)?

• Pirate Knife/Gangster Scarf
• Jinn Marin Balloon
• CD in Mouth (link required)
• ???

It really depends what you are going for. If you are going crit, I would go Ascendant for the extra Crit and ASPD +2.

As for the card I would also suggest Carat or Phylla. (Phylla only if going crit) Carat is very nice since SN have low SP.

 

For middle Headgear, again I would suggest Ancient Elven Ears if going Crit.

My SN is always OW with supplies so I would never use AA and not sure about robot turbo the bonus seems lame nothing short of a few pots and straws can do.

 

I also suggest going crit as a SN since once the update where double attack and crits stack all you need to do is just pop a sidewinder card in your Valkyrie Hammer and your damage will double.

I am waiting for jeremy to remove cards from my mace to switch over to a +12 Valkyrie Hammer, but that's about it on changes.

 

oh and SN can't wear CD in Mouth otherwise I would be using one.

What I do wear is the 99Love ballons and switch into a Miracle Blue Rose when I need Holy Element.

I would suggest any physical melee class to get one of those blue rose, free Aspersio and it activates a lot!

If I'm already sitting at 190 ASPD fully buffed and have ~45 crit without the head gear, would you still suggest the Ascendant over the White Eddga?  With use of the super novice Fury, I'd be around 95 crit and double attack overrides the crit, making it not as desirable.  I'll probably end up with ~60 crit without the phylla or anything in the upper headgear. 

And your suggestion about the Repair Robot Turbo Card makes sense so I'll probably drop it now but still not sure if I'll use Arc Angeling vs. Dark Pinguicula now though.  Same situation with crit as per above.

As for CD in Mouth, you can wear one but you need to be soul linked.  It's really interesting with the Valkyrie Hammer in that even with 1 INT, your MATK is 300+.  Is the +1 all stats better than the 5 attack?  The blue rose will be on my wish list though!

Yeah, currently running Sidewinder, Lora x 2 (can't find third).  May consider Aunoe if I can get my hammer to 12~15. 

 

And that's a bummer about the crowns.  May just stick with White Eddga for now then.
