Edited 25-Mar-18 : Improve readability
Have never seen this posted anywhere. I think this system is very interesting so I’m gonna post one with my own perspective for JRO’s Monster House.
JRO’s Monster House
“Monster House” is a pve event (players VS monsters) held 2 times per week which was added to JRO since 2014. Players join and battle large group of monsters including bosses in a special battlefield to get rewards such as EXP, Item drops or Equipments. The battlefields are divided into several areas with different difficulty levels. Each area has a maximum number of 120 players.
The goal
An extremely large number of strong monsters and bosses spawn inside each area. 120 players must team up and fight until the boss monster at the last room is defeated.
The early the area is cleared, more bonus points everyone can get. This rule is the main reason why everyone inside the MH isn’t worried about the kill stealing (KSing) problem. Just beat every room as fast as they can to get more rewards.
Steps
1. Monster House is held 2 times per week.
- Every Wednesday 22:00 until 23:00 (Beginner and Intermediate)
- Every Friday 23:00 until 0:00am (Beginner and Advance)
(* They’re Tokyo Japan Timezone)
2. 30 minutes before this event begins, there will be an announcement like this :
3. In every town like Prontera, there’s an NPC name “Storm troops recruiting staff (突撃隊募集員)” speak to him and choose the “difficulty level”.
4. After entered preparing area, click on “Storm troops officer (突撃隊長)” to join in the current area.
** 4.1 If 120 players are already joining have already joined in the current area, player must choose other area by talking to the “Area teleporting staff (突撃隊エリア間転送員)”
5. Talk to “Storm troops teleporting staff (突撃隊転送員)” to enter “Stand by area”.
6. Many explanations will appear above the screen. The system would like to ensure that everyone here knows the rule.
(Storage are free, There's no "Death penalty", Resurrection is impossible because player will be automatically sent out, 60 seconds delay before player can re-enter and so on.)
7. Wait until 22:00 (Wednesday) or 23:00 (Friday). When an announcement to begin the battle is displayed, walk through the north gate of the room to actually begin this event.
7.1 In cube room, eliminate all monsters to progress.
7.2 In volcano area, the system will specify the name of monsters that must be defeated above the screen. Player that who kills the specified monster will have his/her name and his/her party name shown above the screen. All target monsters must be eliminated to progress.
7.3 In boss room, there will be a countdown from 5 to 1 then a group of boss monsters as well as (a very very large number of) high-tier monsters spawn. Defeat them all to progress A boss monster, displayed as very very large size, must be defeated to finish the area.
There are 9 areas in total. Defeating boss monsters at the 9th area is a victory. Then TG/TK/KK points are rewarded for everyone who joins in the current area.
Difficulty Levels
Spawning monsters are different depending on the difficulty level player has chosen. There’s no Base Level restriction, everybody is free to join whatever level they like. Though, low level player may have a problem in higher difficulties.
1. Beginner (初級) - Required Level : Nothing
Monsters are quite weak when compared to the other 2 levels. Still, it is not recommended to solo unless the player possesses some expensive gears.
2. Intermediate (中級) - Required Level : 3rd classes, Oboro & Kagerou, Rebellion, Expanded Super Novice can join
Some monsters are troublesome such as the Kraken’s Tentacles that quickly drains out player’s SP. “Epiclesis” or SP recovery items are extremely useful here. Biolab monsters such as Cecil Damon, Magaretha Solin, Kathryne Keyron are quite deadly.
3. Advance (上級) - Required Level : 3rd classes, Oboro & Kagerou, Rebellion, Expanded Super Novice can join
There’re many Kraken’s Tentacles spawn throughout most rooms which quickly drain out players SP to 0 and leave them stone, cursed, frozen, confused, silenced. So, a proper resistance is very very needed such as Medusa Card, Marc Card, Giearth Card and so on. Archbishop's skills like Lauda Agnus and Lauda Ramus are very very important at this level.
Biolab monsters like Trentiny, Chen Lew, Celia Alde, Gertie Woo, Randel Laurence etc. are even more deadly. Thara Frog Card or Mental Strength cannot protect your life. Only Safety Wall and Magnetic Earth with correct timing can. Though, Thara Frog gives a little more chance before you take a proper action. At least you won't die so quickly.
Rewards
Each difficulty level, when finished, gives different kind of points :
1. Beginner - TG Point (突撃ポイント - totsugeki point)
2. Intermediate - TK Point (特攻ポイント - tokkou point)
3. Advance - KK Point (切込ポイント - kirikomi point)
Each kind of points gives different rewards. Since the rewards are too many to be written here, I’m going to filter only those that are interesting.
TG Point’s reward
- Treasure Chest : 30 TG points
Can be sold to NPC for 150,000 Zeny (186,000 Zeny when overcharged)
(* The most popular choice in my opinion - The easiest way to get zeny for buying things.)
- Orange : 10 per 1 TG point
Recover a little amount of SP.
- Excalibur : 1,600 TG points
Holy elemental 1 handed sword.
- Fireblend [0], Ice Falchion [0] or Long Horn [1] : 200 TG points
- Inverse Scale [0], Infiltrator [0] or Light Epsilon [0] : 200 TG points
- Nemesis [0] or Ahlspiess [0] : 800 TG points
- Clip [1], Earring [0], Glove [0], Necklace [0] or Ring [0] : 20 TG points
- Silver Guard [1], Round Buckler [1] : 20 TG points
And much more .. (Click here to see more (Japanese))
TK Point’s reward
- Glorious Gear Ticket : 700 TK points
- Charm of Flame Heart, Charm of Mystic Frozen, Charm of Rough Wind, Charm of Great Nature : 2,500 TK points
KK Point’s reward
- Glorious Weapon Ticket : 7,500 KK points
Slot Enchantment
TG points can also be used to give slot(s) to many gears and weapons. This has a chance to permanently break the equipment just like the normal Slot Enchantment in KRO’s system. Ingredients are also needed.
Zephyrus [0] → Zephyrus [3] : 200 TG points + 5 Orideocons and 10 Steels
Fireblend [0] or Ice Falchion [0] → Fireblend [3] or Ice Falchion [3] : 200 TG points + 50 Steels
Nemesis [0] → Nemesis [2] : 200 TG points + 3 Orideocons
Staff of Piercing [0] → Staff of Piercing [2] : 200 TG points + 10 Bradiums
Elemental Katar [0] → Elemental Katar [3] : 200 TG points + 2 Orideocons
Morrigane’s Helm [0] → Morrigane’s Helm [1] : 200 TG points + 10 Eluniums
and much more .. (click here to see more (Japanese) )
My personal experience
- Beginner ends earlier than other levels. Making it possible to do more than 2-3 characters before the event ends.
- However, the Beginner level gives only ~100 TG points.
- Intermediate and Advance takes longer time depending on other members. Sometime they have OP gears and the raid ends earlier than expected.
- Each clear of Intermediate and Advance gives 200~300 TK and KK points.
- TK and KK points can be converted to TG points. This enables me to trade more “Treasure Chest”. Very good for farming zeny. Luckily Gungho often holds many events that drain large number of zeny out of their system.
Ultimicia and Ludy who always search for adventurers with great strength.
