i've noticed that as i repeat a dungeon more often, and get high scores (119/120), i'm more likely (read: almost always) to get a set item when i use my gada coins. is it just me thinking too hard about it, or is there really some correlation going on?

I think it's just random. I always get SSS ratings, but it didn't seem to drop it more often... but then again you haven't really defined what a higher drop rate is.
