I've tried starting this game 3 separate times and I still don't understand what I'm suppose to be doing. I haven't found any quests, no one actually responds to you in game, the only place to fight monsters I can find is like Prayon Cave or something where I get killed in 2 hits. Am I missing something because there doesn't appear to be any gameplay.

u lvl through pure grind= = there is no quest or what so ever the only thing that comes close to it is the eden quest head quater it takes u to 85 the rest of the way u gotta do it like every1 else, grind a 1000 mob for a lvl

RO is an old game and MMORPGs back in the early 2000s were basically grind fests. It wasn't until WoW came out in 2004 that questing became more prevalent. RO hasn't introduced casual quests until very recently so you'll find that the questing aspect in the game is VERY primitive. It's a very sandbox MMO where you have to hunt for the quests a la RPG-style with no quest indicators.

You can try doing the Eden Group quests, which can be accessed by talking to an elf wearing green clothes (there should be one around every job change NPC as well as in every main town). However, you can't start those quests until level 12 and I think the Training Grounds quests only get you as far as level 8 or 9.
