Yesterday my husband send me a IM-gift : the "Car Pet Gasha Box 1", which according to the description is supposed to give either a "Mini Red Pet Egg" or a "Yellow Cat Pet Egg".

Instead, when opening it I got ... "Chocolat Rabbit (10)", the consumable from Easter Even which gives 1000 HP/MP.

Is that supposed to happen ???

If it can help, the system log to prove, server time (screenshot taken 1-2 minutes after it happened), and the description from the IM.
If a person from the support swings by to check, the character name is "Toupoutou".

The box is working as intended. Like the description says "Gasha Box that can yield ...".

Well, when a description states "a box that can yield A or B", I'm honestly not expecting to receive C, D or even up to Z.
That label is misleading, it should mention explicitly the possibility to get something else than A or B.

You think that's bad, I'm upwards of 3k+ IM worth of various Car Boxes and have only unboxed a good handful of them.

 

If you want an affordable, car-stat level pet, Mrs. Husky is a better choice. It's lower value but same stat potential due to easier time obtaining. (It's 300 IM for the egg guaranteed as opposed to 100 IM for a chance at the egg). Also it's able to be dyed.

The problem is that it is unbelievably misleading Coolsam. It is tricking the new players, like me. There is no way that I can understand from that sentence that it is giving another item than the 2 specified cars. They should change the description and inform people that it gives random stuff, too. If I knew, I wouldn't have bought it; waste of my money.

The example of "can yield A or B" is different from an item saying "contains A or B" or even "contains X that WILL yield A" where the 1st is only a possibility whilst the later are guaranteed. That being said though, I do agree that the description is a little misleading for those who don't speak English as their native language. Even then, it can still be quite confusing where it's a newbie trap for those unfamiliar with how these packages work. For future reference, just read through the items more carefully when making purchases since if it's too good to be true, chances r it's not what u're expecting.

As a linguist and a teacher of English, I have to say that it should be more specific. Let's analyze it.
If I say, for example "My kid can have candy or chips", nobody will think that my kid is going to have chocolate.
However, if you say "My kid can swim or jump", people will probably assume that he can walk, too.
So, you can look at it as a "possibility" or an "ability". I can get A or B as in ability to get it, or I can get A or B as a possibility to get it.
As you can see, here it is ambiguous and therefore we couldn't have known it. We lost money because of their grammar. So, they should change the statement to, for example, "it may yield a red car or a yellow car", only then, I would have actually known.

I will forward your concern to the development team to discuss if we can change the description a bit but being the main developer I have to state that the number of characters we can use for the descriptions are limited. If you want to focus on refunding IM because of this I kindly ask you to submit a ticket using our ticket system which can be found by navigating to http://support.warpportal.com. As for the characters, "can" and "may" have both 3 characters, don't worry, it will fit.

I actually agreed with u on the description being ambiguous in its wording and wasn't assuming or implying anything about ur understanding over the english language. I was just speaking generally since this server is now made up of people of different ethnicities, racial backgrounds and age groups. It was not specifically aimed at you. If you've played the game for a certain period of time, u'll start to pick up on how item descriptions r written. In most cases, packaged items will use the word "contain" to indicate that it's guaranteed hence y i said that it's a newbie trap targetted at those who r unfamiliar with how these items work. Grammatically speaking, the description is incorrect though so are a bunch of other text descriptions. The game isn't perfect in it's translation where even npcs are speaking korean still?Anyways I apologise for offending u in any way as that was not my intention watsoever. Hope u get ur refund.
