Interesting how they always try to adjust their maps and give new challenges to players. Most of monsters they’ve adjusted are earth-property as the previous event gave players many Fury Hunting Weapons (猟乱武器) (They are all fire property).
kue8e6000002p9rm.jpg
Implementation date : Since May 30th, 2017

In the source link, adjustments are displayed in red color and the original values are displayed within parenthesis. I’m going to post only those that have been changed.

Maps adjustments
Geffen Field 02 has become a great spot for Rune Knights looking for materials for their rune stones.

Spoiler

Monsters Adjustments

Most of adjustments are mainly applied for increasing their HP and EXP

Spoiler

Monsters’ skills adjustment
There are adjustments applied for Queen Controlled Andre, Queen Controlled Piere and Queen Controlled Deniro but the detail isn’t written.

Drop Adjustment
Spoiler

Previous maps adjustment was Geffen and Izlude back in February 21th, 2017

When I saw the word "nightmare", I recalled the Scaraba Nightmare.

http://ro.silk.to/map/dic_dun03.html

I clearly saw how scary there is was back when I was playing TRO. I haven't been to this in JRO yet.

So are the ant hell and orc maps in addition to the normal ones, or did jRO permanently replace the normal ones or are these just an event? :o

The word 実装日 (jis-sou-bi), I understand it as "implementation date". They don't write ending date. So I think that means permanent changes.

Just like they did for Izlude and Geffen.

2017-05-31%2012%2056%2006_zpsezk846sg.pn

I'm glad Orcs have become fearsome once again because I had a nostalgia when I was playing at IRO beta test (~2002), Orcs Village was a scary place full of pressure that they weren't easy enemies that can be easily butchered compared to nowadays RO.

Unfortunately, Orc zombies haven't been adjusted yet. They suppose to be stronger than normal Orcs so it's kinda weird...

Ant Hell and Orc Village become thing again, it's bring back nostalgia from time when Ragnarok the Animation aired lol

I'm more curious with this

Corridor of Abyss ~A dragon living in King’s Castle~
kue8e6000002p9hh.jpg
June 13th - July 11th
This event will add new dungeon named “Ancient Castle of Abyss”. Only those who finished “King’s grave of Abyss” will be granted an authority to enter this new dungeon. Apparently (they said) the new boss will be more fearsome than the “Ancient King Grothur (古王グローザ)”.
New cards and items will also be added to the game.

Nice art. Looks like he will be Niddhogur counterpart? Damn jRO, they have liberty to make their own character

That's drawn by Mr.Yuuichiro I guess. I remember this kind of style.

I'm not sure how to call it "He" or "She" but I notice it has BOOBS! (lol)

Woah that's cool that they updated the maps then. That'll mean people have to find other maps to level their newbies on there, assuming they did the somewhat usual way of doing ant hell > orcs like most people here do.

Except for Homunculus leveling. (lol) I really don't know why.

My personal opinion is, Ant Hell and Orcs were outdated and people forgot about them. I went to those places and I couldn't find any player at all. (In JRO, I've never seen even 1 bot in leveling maps)

In my aspect, when I create a new character, the best way to fastly quickly get a level up is to go somewhere else like Mandragoras, Clock Tower or Undersea Tunnel.

It's time to actually finish this topic which has been remaining in my mind for so long.

I think the translation is quite unnecessary. Let's just express them with my own perspective and a few pictures.

_______________________________

1. Geffen Tower

YGjdRBS.jpg

Suitable for : 1st classes Lv 10+

The adjustment was applied together with RO x Chunithm (a musical arcade game with Penguin as a mascot) event. Poison Spores and Mandragoras are buffed with higher HP and EXP.

Just a few minutes grinding here will send player to Lv 40 shortly.

2. Undersea Tunnel

EdZpoZC.jpg

Suitable for : 1st classes Lv 10+

A period between Lv10 - Lv20, Hydras give 1 Base & Job Lv per every kill. Though, Marina & Vadon are quite tough. In my opinion, at least Base Lv 20 they should be no problem.

3. Pyramid 1F

bInZNrD.jpg

Suitable for : 1st classes Lv 10+

Full of Anacondaqs and Boas here. However, Anacondaqs are much different than IRO. They're not tough. A level 20 character should be able to kill them fast.

For the first time visit as a low level, Boa & Poporings are good enough. This place should send player to 2nd classes within an hour.

4. Orc Village

YM0Phqm.jpg

Suitable for :

1st classes Lv 10+ with foods should be able to fight

2nd classes Lv 20+

As you can see, Orcs give 7,200 Base EXP & 3,600 Job EXP. A first job that can do AoE skill like Swordman can quickly get to Job Lv50 within 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, there was no adjustment for the Orc Dungeon. So, it's not worthy entering.

** Unlike IRO, people here don't do a homunculus camping here. Maybe their exp aren't worthy.

** Unlike IRO, Orcs don't constantly inflict Bleeding ailment. So, it's much easier to fight.

5. Sphinx

L55VslD.jpg

Suitable for : 1st classes Lv 40+

I actually went inside just the first floor of it. Zeroms & Requiems are quite stronger than before. Holy elemental weapon will take advantage here. But if not, I think other places are more useful.

6. Ant Hell

1Pjmaif.jpg

Suitable for : spell casters Lv 30+

Ants have high defense so spell casters will do better performance here. There's a caution however, ants will constantly spawn from eggs and will mob so hard. They hit quite harder than before as well as their much higher HP.

The 2nd floor is for 3rd classes who put on "Excelion Wing <Triple R-Ground>" and the likes which reduce earth property damages or player will just easily die even with 20k HP.

7. Glastheim Church

q2mNwpW.jpg

Suitable for : Priests Lv65+

Undead monsters in JRO are unsurprisingly "undead". Evil Druid has over 100,000 HP. While other classes will have to spend more time taking them down, priest can just kill it easily by "Turn Undead" for a fast level up.

Monk, on the other hand, can do the same by using "Grand Cross (Lv4 Mace)". Still, with high INT and LUK, the success rate is inferior than Priests. I think spending stats point more on AGI for Attack Speed will give a better performance since they have too high HP to be taken down by combos.

8. Clock Tower Underground B3F

2mQAeRR.jpg

Suitable for : 2nd classes Lv65+

Penomenas give ~20,000 base exp and ~11,000 job exp and they mob & hit quite hard. Pulling them is a risk. Just killing 1 by 1 is enough to get to Lv99 within 3~4 hours.

9. Pyramid 3F

gPWxKij.jpg

Suitable for : 2nd classes Lv65+

Number of Verit & Isis was significantly increased. Since this place is quite popular, I was constantly mobbed. No matter how fast I kill them, more will spawn and come.

Moreover, this place is great for grinding since the beginning of 3rd classes because of the density of monsters.

10. Malaya Field 01

ml2NvBl.jpg

Suitable for : 2nd class Lv65+

Unlike IRO, there's no Tiyanak here and Tikbalang won't debuff player with Decrease AGI. So, it's much easier to grind here.

A caution however, Jejeling is a real threat. Try to keep away from it as far as possible because its Water Ball and Spear Boomerang can 1 hit KO any character who has HP lower than 8000.

Hunter's Land Mine is super effective here.

11. Malaya Field 02

oKZxICI.jpg

Suitable for : Spell caster Lv90+ or Hunter/Sniper

Because they reflect physical damage, it became a great leveling spot for spell caster's first period. VIT should be at least 50 or will die easily by Bungisngis's stun attack.

Green Potions and Holy Waters are required because Engkanto will constantly make player poisoned or cursed.

Hunter's Claymore Trap is super effective here.

12. Norg Road 01

QJOD0NU.jpg

Suitable for : Assassin with Ice Pick or Sorcerer with Spell Fist build

Lava Golems are everywhere. They give ~70,000 base exp per kill but since they have very high defense, physical attack won't do much damage unless player has ice pick. Sorcerer's spell fist is okay but I think Warlocks will have problems here because the golems aren't boss type. They will get frozen constantly and other water spell will be much less effective.

I think +7 Pororocca Shoes & +7 La'cryma Stick works great here, though.

13. Niflheim field 02 01

sQlqZnr.jpg

Suitable for : Priest or Monk or 3rd classes

Dullahan has lesser HP but gives higher EXP than Evil Druid. So, this is another great leveling spot for Acolyte class. However, there're so many Ludes, Cubes and Gibbets that will make a nuisance and lower player's flee. My tactic is to use Kyrie Eleison to protect myself and then pounce on Dullahan with Turn Undead. If I was lucky, it would die instantly and quickly raise the Lv.

Field 02 where Niflheim is located to the right however, is for 3rd classes who can blow monster hard like Sura's Tiger Cannon. Or it will be quite a waste of time because Loli Ruris & Hylozoists have too high HP. (Over 100,000 can't remember)

14. Pyramid B1F

Kn3NIG9.jpg

Suitable for : Wizard or Kagerou/Oboro

Minotauruses are boss type, means they can't be pushed back nor get frozen. So, I think Wizard takes advantage here. My tactic is to use Quagmire to slow them down, walk until they're moderately distant away, then cast Stormgust. The cast will end as soon as they are close to me.

15. Nameless Island's Cursed Monastery

3d5TriU.jpg

Suitable for :

Outside and 1st floor : Arch Bishop or DB Rune Knight Lv100+

2nd floor : Arch Bishop Lv120+

3rd floor (as shown in picture above) : ... well, without extreme gears, I really have no idea how to fight. They will just instantly kill me upon contact.

Necromancers at 2nd floor reflect physical damage. So, it's a great leveling spot for Magnus Exorcismus build.

I personally hate this place and can't be bothered to enter because there're so many prerequisite quests required. Especially the one that is rescuing a girl in Thor Volcano dungeon. I hate it /sob (lol)

They can be skipped by "Mysterious Stone Fragment" since the Terra Gloria update but it costs so much zeny.

Nice Guide Obbo, I'm considering trying out jRO too.

May I know which non-japanese payment gateway you usually purchase the jRO credits from? the one you used for paying subscription to play the game?

16. Prontera Field : High Orcs

aSHeyah.jpg

Suitable for : 3rd class 100+

This map is equivalent to Malaya fields in my opinion except that this map is for those who do mainly a physical attack. Like RK or GX for example. Water property weapons and Vadon cards work great here.

We could get something like this on Iro, the leveling path has very few worthwile options currently, they could remove 90% of maps and noone would notice

Its something they should be able to do inhouse withouth daddy Kro interfering

Cmon its becoming super boring to level all the characters in the exact same maps every time

Agreed. This game is unlike other browser-based games or modern mobile phone games. Its charm is the wide world to explore which many old school games were.

Instance dungeons on the other hand, can also be boring just like grinding if farmed for a long time. (Actually everything, TI, instances, grinding - the fact is we bore of something if we stay at it for a long time) So the game needs to have a wide variety of contents.

To be honest, in JRO, instances like JitaNekoHomo (Jitterbug Hard, Malangdo Gigamix, Horror Toy Factory) or BioMoru (Bios Island + Cave of Morse) can also be boring just like I bored IRO's TI long ago. That's the same point.

JRO has yet to improve more maps in my opinion but since they don't have to wait KRO to approve, I guess it would be faster for themselves to modify things.

Well there are lots of tweaks and exploits shared info on the internet on how to play region locked MMO Games and I've tried playing several Japan-exclusive MMO in the past like MHFO - Monster Hunter Frontier Online, MSGO - Mobile Suit Gundam Online, DQX - Dragon Quest X, etc :p_smile:

The only thing region-locked about jRO is the website login. The patcher, the game itself and the play/start buttons on the website all accept non-Japanese IPs.

also I had an extremely fun time leveling to 99 as a gunslinger at orc village, kind of braindead and inefficient but fun none the less.

EDIT: Confusing use of comma replaced with a dot.

In my opinion, instances & quests are more effective than grinding. I think this is the main reason why botting in JRO is nearly impossible to be seen.

Yes, I agree on quests and instances being very good for EXP, but I also think that hunting is very rewarding.

Trough my adventures on another character in Bylan, I made three friends, one good card and managed to use that card to get even more zeny thanks to the majestic gambling of Old Card Albums.

A combination of both is the best.

EDIT: Found a crop of the Gunslinger grind, I think it was bonus EXP at the time.

I absolutely agree with you. Think you might have seen what I said before (On another topic which I can't remember).

A combination is the best because I played until I felt those instances are just boring before. Sometimes I prefer grinding instead since this is the only MMO i've ever played that's not forcing me to follow something in the game. (But there are so many MMOs out there that I've never played too, WoW for example. I know it since I knew every MMOs were based on WoW...)

And likewise, I sometime bored the grinding and then prefer instances instead. XD It's kinda loop but it's a lot of fun anyway.

Edit:

There was a 150% EXP event held ealier January this year. Maybe you played in that period.

This is the issue of all veteran players I feel; early game leveling is actually quite smooth, especially when you know what to do. Later leveling, for whatever reason, slows almost to a stop without parties.

It doesn't even really have to do with content, in my opinion (although new content is always nice). It's about making what content we have more relevant. I get that to some extent, WP hands are tied, but even so...
