I've been wanting to buy some costumes from the auction house (RO1 Dancer Female, Ali Baba veil) but the listed ones are extremely expensive (like most rare items in the auction house), somewhere around ~300k zeny. I've been playing this game for a  few years but I've never gotten even close to that amount. I also noticed that most of the time, the high amount of zeny that people are auctioning these items off for lead to items never actually being sold, which breaks my heart. I think currently I have around 2.5k zeny? (I have bought some pricey-ish things from the auction house before, so it might've been higher before- but nothing above 10k zeny). Is there anyone who might accept maybe a small amount of zeny w/ me joining their party for a few days to help with dungeons, raids, etc.? Crafting items for them or collecting drops they need, or even helping with quests/khara, etc.? Quite frankly, anything is fine with me as long as I don't have to pay a ridiculous amount of zeny. I haven't been playing consistently due to school and other extracurricular activities, so maybe that's why I'm low on zeny? 

 

If not, could a kind soul please provide some tips on how to accumulate zeny quicker? I've auctioned some things off before, but only for moderate prices (~500 zeny?) I honestly have 0 clue how some of you can manage to have upwards of 100k zeny  

 

I'm a master level 8 rogue/blacksmith, but I've been saving my exp to grind more easily (~9k mp right now) so I'm not sure what ML I actually am.

 

Again, any tips would be greatly appreciated!

There's no a magic formula to earn zeny easily but in my opinion there are a few things that might help you getting more. First thing first, level up your character to have access to more quests and to be stronger and deal with monsters more easily. Once you will have reached a higher level, start to:

- do runes' material quests on a daily bases, the more characters you have the better. You can decide to sell the materials or hoard them in order to make runes;

- if you can spend a good amount of your time on the game, try to make a new character (pref. a Bearmaster or a Warrior) and bring it to Master Level 1, gear it up with the best you can afford and start farming "Happy Hour Box";**

- go to Wonderland Dungeon to farm cards;***

- when you will have reached a good level (for example ML 40), you can "farm" mastery points;****

 

** If you are a casual player like me, simply skip this. Anyway HHB drops whenever you kill a monster in a range of 5 levels from yours. It's an event that runs once a month in the first week.

*** Wonderland Dungeon is an instance dungeon located in Jawaii Love Island (you can go there through Alberta -> Jawaii Ocean Island). You can know if the dungeon is open by checking the status boards located in Prontera (near Noel job change NPC), Morroc (near Road of Bless entrance), Alberta (near Mailbox). Remember to access the Easy mode of the dungeon, because both Normal and Hard are for party-raid. You can go there from Master Level 20 without having too many difficulties.

**** As you know there's an NPC called Dapara where is possible to exchange your mastery points for items. Some items are sold very easily in AH, a few example: High Grade Pillarnium for Crafting, Prime Grade Pillarnium for Crafting;

 

I'm sure there are other methods, 

but in the meanwhile: Never give up!

300k for costumes sounds like you might be looking at those that are slotted. If you can't afford it I would avoid those to begin with since the impact of slots is negligible. Usually 0 slot costumes cost around 10-50k which should be more than enough, other than a few rarer costumes which can't be helped. 

I assume by a few years you're still playing very infrequently which is absolutely fine. If this is the case, I would pay attention to any events that give away semi-valuable items and try to hoard the more valuable ones like honing or refinement type items are good. When the prices for those go up, sell them for a quick profit.

If you prefer a more farming route, you can build up a ML 1 Beastmaster or Warrior and farm Happy Hour Boxes when those events are up - usually rich people that are lazy are you best target market for those, and all you have to do is price cut others since any zeny is good zeny for your case. Keep in mind though, a lot of people go with this route so prices swing rather widely and some boxes aren't very good either

Other small things can be like opening Pandora boxes for the chance at getting phantom stones and sell those stones which go for (last I checked) around 8k apiece?

And arguably the fastest way is to simply sell cash shop items. Pick up a part time job in real life so you can but and sell those items at ridiculous rates until you feel comfortable.
