Since premium currency is becoming more frequent, along with items being traded for over the 1bil vending limit, there are certain precautions that both players can take in order for the trade to go smoothly. The prices mentioned below are all on the Chaos Renewal Server.

Please note that KP/WPE trades are not supported by the GM staff, and because of that, advertising the trade of WPE sale or KP sale ( in points) is not tolerated on forums.
(do not start start advertising in the market section that you are SELLING any sort of KP or WPE)

WPE:

Currently, the average price for WPE is about 220m/1k WPE. This always fluctuate depending on upcoming upgrading events and OCP. With a highly sought after item (mob scarf) and an incoming over refine event WPE will be in more demand.

The trade in WPE is very dangerous for the person who goes first. I highly recommend dealing between friends and guildies before finding strangers to sell it to. To sell WPE, visit this link and you will be directed to the gift card creation page by signing in with your warp portal account. You have the option of turning your WPE  points into 1k, 2k, or 3k codes into a redemption code that starts with the letters EPT followed by an assortment of numbers.

Once you have a buyer, someone must give the other person the CODE or the ZENY first:

  • If the person wants you to give the code first, you gift them the code. They will redeem it and confirm to you that the code works. Then the person who received the code will deal you the agreed price that he wanted to pay for.
    • If the person steals your code, you can only report it and the GMs might reverse the trade or do nothing, who knows.
  • If the person gives you the zeny first, you just take it and give them the code afterwards. They will confirm your code works and that's the end of it.
    • If the person says the code doesn't work, THEY COULD BE LYING. Redeem the code yourself. If it says "The Code Was Already Redeemed." Then it's more than likely that the person is trying to swindle you.

If you are buying WPE from someone, the same applies except if the person takes your zeny first and doesn't give you the code (i.e. log off after taking zeny), the most the GMs will do is ban that account and you will NOT get your zeny back; assuming you will report the scam.

Kafra Points:

Selling kafra points are very similar to WPE except that you must purchase the item from the kafra shop. The most common price at the moment seems to be at 100 kp = 14m-17mil.

Before you attempt to sell the person anything, make sure you have enough points to get the players what they need. So if a person has a chat up saying "B>100kp = 14m", it generally means they want to purchase items that costs more than 100 kp. So even if you have 100 kp to sell, it's very unlikely that someone will find what you have useful to buy for only 100 kp.

Assuming you do have a decent amount (lets say 2000 kp), the buyer will tell you to buy something like Giant Flywing Box for 500 kp. If you are paying it at 14m per 100, it simply means 14 x 5, which in this case is 70m for the box. You deal the person, give that person the box, that person gives the zeny, and that's it.

If the buyer happens to not be honorable with their trade, don't worry. Most kafra items are worthwhile and can be revended or sold to another player. So if the person who wanted the Gwings didn't want it anymore, you can put up a chat for 70m and someone will probably come by and buy it.

THESE ITEMS ARE NOT RECCOMENDED TO SELL TO OTHER PLAYERS:

  • Token of Siegfried (self res tokens)
  • Insurance (no exp penalty on death)
  • Magical Stone Box
  • Battle/Job/Gum Boxes
  • Anything sold by the Eden Merry Badger

Most of the time, players who requests to buy these items are trying to scam you and waste your points. Your safest will generally be refinement ores, giant fly wings, hair coupons, and heavy lifter boxes.

Lastly, be careful of character bound items that are similar in name. You can buy an individual item like "HD Bradium" that costs 15 kp that is not tradeable between accounts. Or you can buy "HD Bradium 5 Box" which is tradeable. Generally, boxed items are tradeable minus the OCP boxes.

TRADING ITEMS WORTH OVER 1bil zeny:

Unfortunately, due to how old this game is, the maximum trade and vend limit is capped at 999,999,999z. (in otherwords, 1bil).

There is an insane number of kafra items that are worth over 1bil and making sure the deal is fair is more important than ever. The key is to document by typing in /savechat and pressing PRNT SCRN on your keyboard.

Let's use the example, MOB SCARF 28502.png, which is currently being valued at 2.1bil (even though ragial says 1bil, the vendors were selling it based on the vending limit cap).

To transact this trade, both players must agree on the price and type it in their chat.

  • Player A (has scarf): Your 2.1bil for my Mob Scarf.
  • Player B (has zeny): I agree, my 2.1bil your Mob Scarf.

Once written agreement is made, both players take a screenshot and save the chat. Then it will go down to trust between the players. There are multitudes of ways to do this, but the most common is listed below.

  • Player A gives the scarf first and Player B trades with the first 999,999,999z in the initial transaction. Then Player B continues to pay another 999,999,999z until the 100mil payment is made.
  • Player A may want 1bil first, then Player A gives the mob scarf after receiving the second 1bil in the 2nd transaction. Player B then finishes it by giving Player A the last 100m.
  • Player B gives all 2.1bil first, then Player A gives the scarf on the last transaction.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The maximum your character can hold is 2,147,483,647 zeny. So you might have to bring another character to hold zeny once you reach that limit.

Alternative way to complete the transaction (can take much longer): Player A leaves the Scarf on 1 character without moving it, Player B leaves the zeny on certain characters. Both players must send in a ticket mentioning the names of the character that has the item/zeny. The GMs will complete the transaction for you. This can take up to days or weeks, but it is the safest method. Players typically go this route when items are worth over 40bil or so, where the stakes are extremely high.

If one person backs out on the agreement, you can send in a ticket and the GMs will reverse the scam for you.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope everyone keep their wallet safe tonight. If there are any more questions, feel free to post then and I will update anything that was missed.

Helpful Links:

Ragial - Help you find items easier. Remember that vending limit is capped at 1bil (not the true cost of many items)
WPE Gift Cards - For selling/redeeming WPE
ROPD - Find players in game. Players who show their account and are at maxed level tends to be more trustworthy than a level 1 novice.

TRADING ITEMS WORTH OVER 1bil zeny:

  • Player A gives the scarf first and Player B trades with the first 999,999,999z in the initial transaction. Then Player B continues to pay another 999,999,999z until the 100mil payment is made.
  • Player A may want 1bil first, then Player A gives the mob scarf after receiving the second 1bil in the 2nd transaction. Player B then finishes it by giving Player A the last 100m.
  • Player B gives all 2.1bil first, then Player A gives the scarf on the last transaction.

4. Player A gives an item worth 1 bil as collateral and Player B gives the first 1 bil. Then Player A gives ANOTHER item worth 1 bil as a collateral, and receive the second bil from player B. Finally, in the last deal, Player A gives the Scarf while player B gives the last 100M along with ALL the items used as collateral.

No need to be a single item worth 1B, can be multiple items. Also, the collateral doesn't neccessarily needs to be worth 1B. If you buy an item priced at 1.5 B and the only item worthy of being used as collateral is a +9 FAW worth 700M, you can do the first step receiving 700M and the second receiving 800M + the FAW. Also, if both parties agree, the collateral may be asymetrical (you give an item priced at 900M, but the other party will give you 1B in zeny, because he feels better having 900 M secured than 0 zeny).

This is called Collateral Trade, and for the PMs I received while trying to buy my Mob Scarf, most people seem to have no idea about it.

I knew about dealing trades that way, but it's not always a sure thing.

For all you know, a jellopy can be valued at 1bil (unlikely) but people value things differently and can easily lead to complications. Additionally, you're assuming they have items they're willing to set a collateral with. Some players aren't comfortable with putting their actual gear on the line either, and not everything is accepted. Some players try to argue with me by saying "holy valk armor, worth xxxx amount." I told them no because I personally value it at 0. And if they scam me, I don't want to be stuck babysitting an item until the GM resolves my ticket.

Some players can do that, and that's fine. But again, you're already going through a high risk trade. If any party fails to uphold their side of the bargain, just send in a ticket. I don't want to waste time scrounging for gear and then figure out if the other player will value it at the same price.

Thats why every time i buy WPE from any player i ask before the deal "You will sell more later?" if he/she will do, then i add as friend and next time i do zenny 1st, but the 1st time i meet a WPE seller is Code 1st no matter what, but since he WPE is risk real money i let he put the price, if he want increase a little more the price.

if you mean WPE, buy using payeasy.

I tried it yesterday and its 100 pesos cheaper.

2000 WPE at 866 pesos when standard price of 2000 WPE is at 20 USD (990 pesos).

Yeah, you have enough to not care about being scammed for 2, 3, 4 b. Waiting a month or 2 for a ticket to be solved must be just a little bother to you, if any, but for those who don't already know everything that you said, and who can't afford to be scammed for 1 or 2 bilion, it's good to let them know that there's an alternative where they can mitigate their risks, without having to wait a time that may vary something between a couple minutes and more than a full month to be solved.

I always provide collateral whenever I sell something over 1B (unless the person dismiss it), and always ask for it when I'm on the buying side. I'm in no condition to risk waiting for months for something to be solved, I'd rater lose 5~10% of the total value in a scam while I wait for the ticket to be solved.

5. And an old way that I am not sure if anyone still does is actually using BMx3/OCA/BB as the Collateral (Since everyone values those items roughly the same price) or selling a 5B item for X of mentioned items that are currently equivalent in price (Exchange trade)

When dealing WPE/KP, background check is the most effective way to protect yourself. When I sell WPE, I would accept code-first if the buyer has one or multiple high level third class characters, but if the buyer is novice it must be zeny-first. ROPD is really helpful, its necessary to scan the trader before dealing your WPE/KP/zeny. I was scammed once by someone who was using a lv.3 novice, and had only one character in the account. It was an obvious scam alert, but I was so desperate to make the deal and went with it anyway, since I hadnt been able to make a deal for several days and my patience was running off. So another advice is to keep yourself together and remain calm about any circumstances, sometimes scammers can take advantage of this.

I haven't done the wpe trade deal in a long time but advice I like to give is trade in the smallest amount allowed. If someone wants 2k buy two 1k codes and deal 1k at a time. That way if you get scammed it's not going to be for some huge amount. I have been scammed in the past and you do not get the code back or the zany if you report the scammer.
