Did some testing

Reason why the damage differs much:

+15 crimson vs +9 vigil bow. but i guess if vigil bow upgraded to +15, it still cant reach +15 crimson level.

 

 

Conclusion:

Leave the set, the set sucks. Just use the suit, overupgrade it and enchant it with expert archer for max potency. You can use the badge, the 5% bow damage is nice, no difference to keraunos tho in my damage test (bako still wins tho).

I'll get one of these and pair it with my +12 Catapult, I think it'd be a much better combination if we're going to focus on Triangle Shot only.

as mildcontempt noted before (+14 vigibow vs +14Cbow), vigiset is better by a bit with TS

 

the bow is still good for 2HF SR leveling though

 

unless you want to card 2HF on ur +15C.bow

The best combo for TS damage specifically I found was Vigi suit + Catapult, but I believe the true potential is perhaps in a 2xLiberation Crimson Bow + Vigi Suit. 

 

Here's why -- the way you would typically stack damage is awkward with bows and primarily depends on EA mods and little on physical atk% mods. The catapult has low atk (as does the Vigi bow, but it has innate 40% ranged damage basically) and the catapult buffs TS damage by 2% per refine.

 

The crimson bow on the other hand will probably give you 2x the atk power of any other bow right now that a Shadow Chaser can use and with so much hard atk from the weapon refine + equip atk bonus, 2x AK cards will boost that tremendously which will then be amplified by the EA/ranged % from the vigi suit + faw + temp dex + etc.

 

This also opens up the versatility of the Crimson Bow for other skills -- it is extremely good/the best with feint bomb and is very good with aimed bolt.

 

The Vicious Mind bows have some potential too, and especially if you were to get 2 good enchants on it (like perhaps a general atk %, drake effect, boss atk %, boss def pierce, or flat atk). This one is much more RNG dependent ofc, but would beat the crimson bow on raw ATK and if it had good enough enchants would compensate for the missing 2nd card slot.

 

Still, catapults are CHEAP so buying and yolo refining them is not at all a bad idea... I just think you'll be somewhat disappointed in its performance compared to a crimson bow (I noticed a damage difference of about 5% on triangle shot, and I used no weapon cards, so with 2x AK in both, the crimson would beat it very handily.)  

 

edit: if/when we get the jro SC ring, that will really make crimson shine

catapult would beat crimson on a full damage setup. Simply because you can get quite a lot of flat atk from other sources like Eddga hat, scaling weapon atk from HE proc, the statusATK from HE proc is boosted by skill% and so on.

With the future Bio5 hat tho, Crimson would beat it again, as the hat offers skill damage% (ranged% enchant), and you are loosing the eddga flat atk, so you gotta get it back with the weapon.

BiS would be Vicious with the apropriate enchants, but rng is rng.

i managed to test using 2x AS carded Catapult, and using similar equips to other test, here it is:

 

conclusion:

the damage is similar to my +15 crimson bow (2x AK carded, if the bow is using 2x AS card, crimson bow will win).

just pick a target properly and gear yourself specifically against it. High numbers arent hard to reach, on any class, as long as you do the proper setup.

had to change IB build to SR because i was curious to test it, my  IB was hitting 35 - 40k to wraith dead in mid TI with +15 Crimson Sabre ( clean )

now with SR build, i only do 2.8 - 3k to Bungisnis with +15 Crimson Bow ( clean ) , wth ?!

I believe C. Bow is still the best bow for SR for SCs, although I am not sure because I have'n tried the elemental bow/tights/towel combo because I read it still bugged.

Maybe you were using the wrong arrow? Or you have low agi at the moment?

and you need good amounts of both dex and agi to deal good SR dmg.
