PvM and leveling.

 

How is Lighting Ride for leveling with Keraunos? How does it compare to Flash Combo?

 

Lvl138 Sura

 

I have 41job levels, Tiger cannon and Flash Combo Max, Raising Dragon at lv4. 

 

Should i reset for Lighting Ride?

The dmg is only increase slightly, but the spamability increased greatly

well, for LR you can pretty much reutilize all of a regular genetic gears, wich is a huge plus, not having to buy 2 sets of gear.
An even later on it remains good, since the accessory gets rid of all cast time you can focus on just plain damage gears and 1~2 shot things from distance, also the gears that boost damage from LR would boost Rampage Blaster as well, and RB is an incresibly powerfull skill.

Life gets easier once you get Rising Dragon since you don't need to Zen every time you cast LR

Sp regen is a breeze too since the cooldown of power absorb. Is taken away.

following the thread. i want to know,too if lr is better than fc with 2 keraunos. do not have ea gears(no gene,sorry) i have a turkey and a superior vit boots,thana hammer the rest are from my gx(evil dragon armor,mali set, wakwak faw etc)

currently at level 124 job30 something
120vit 80str 60dex and the rest of the points are on int

My guess is that damage-wise, LR likely won't be better... But it might be faster. In which case, they'd maybe be equal?

My Sura is 102 now, building towards LR. Nice thing about LR is that it is area aoe and not target aoe! this is a huge plus. Also, don't need to buy consumables like genes do with cannon balls.

Well, very interesting skill to use at low levels. I would probably go for fc straight away. It is kinda hard to level up, doable but very expensive consumable wise.

Yeah, I tried Howling Lion for a while at that level. It's a decent skill and fairly spammable and can get you to RB. If you plan to go that way. FC is the fastest and straightest leveling method.

FC is useless against enemies who can hitlock/root/fiber lock, because then you're forced to snap to them and it leaves even more of the same type that can hitlock you, outside it's aoe range for the TC portion of the combo.  They really need to get rid of enemies with a 3 cell melee range and reduce it to 1.

just position yourself, suras have the easiest time doing it with snap

I made a video leveling with LR at high TI with my 14x sura and I think its a cheaper way than FC leveling but dont know if its worth lvling like this at higher levels... I will try NCT later ^^

Thanks for posting that, it's been quite helpful for me personally! ^_^ Leveling as a Monk is always super slow though, so that wouldn't be anything new LOL.

I changed to FC and it is way faster and better, For me anyway.
